Duties: Accountable to the General Manager, Health Services for the strategic leadership and integration of acute services. The position will have responsibility for acute health care policy implementation to support the strategic objectives of CYWHS and the health reform agenda. The successful incumbent will ensure the effective leadership of service and program developments to support the delivery of high quality; population based acute care services which promote, maintain and restore the health of women, children and young people within budget parameters. Monitoring the day to day operations of the hospital and supporting the formation of clinical networks and their service planning, is also a feature of this position.




Essential Minimum Qualifications: Tertiary level qualifications in health or business related discipline or other relevant field.




Special Conditions: This is a full time contract appointment for five years. Some inter and intrastate travel may be required. May be required to serve on Department of Health and other South Australian and National committees. Required to be contactable and available after hours and will be required to participate on the Executive emergency after hours on call roster. A contract with an attractive executive remuneration package commensurate to the role, including salary packaging options, is available.

The Consultant will be expected to collaborate in a statewide gynaecological oncology service including sessions at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the training of Fellows.

He/she will have a prime role in providing medical/scientific input into Registry operations, in particular 1) performance of analyses as requested and 2) enhancing output by providing medical oversight of analyses and 3) performance of his/her own investigations utilising the ANZDATA database. In addition to projects conceived by others, it is expected the appointee will develop an independent role in originating and executing analyses.
