SA HEALTH COMMISSION ACT VACANCIES



AND
INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL AND VETERINARY SCIENCE ACT

Vacancies contained in this section will be filled under the provisions of the South Australian Health Commission Act, 1976 and in the case of IMVS positions the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science Act, 1982. In addition to South Australian Health Commission Act employees, applications received from persons employed by the organisations contained on pages 1 and 2 of the Notice will also be accepted for vacancies listed in this section. Applicants are encouraged to obtain further details of the position and conditions of the vacancy from the contact officer nominated in the advertisement. Applicants should relate their application to the Person Specification for the position and include a Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume to maximise their chances of being considered further by a Selection Panel.



GRIEVANCE PROVISIONS

If you believe that your application for promotion has received unfair treatment relating to the selection process, you may have the right to seek a review of the decision. The right of review ONLY applies to employees under the South Australian Health Commission Act and employees under the Public Sector Management Act who were seconded to the SA Health Commission prior to 1st September, 1987. This Grievance Procedure is explained in more detail in Part 3-1 of the SAHC Act Human Resources Manual. Initial enquiries should be directed to the Chairperson of the Selection Panel.

Duties: The Administrative Service Officer is responsible for providing reception services and administrative / clerical support to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of the mental health service. Duties: The Administrative Services Officer is responsible for the provision of administrative support and clerical services to the Emergency Department Unit as part of the administrative team. The role includes maintaining and updating the attendances, admissions, transfers and separations (ATS) computerised patient database(s), applying clerical and administrative skills and aptitude to support the clinical teams and patients in the day to day Unit activities. Apply policy and procedure with a degree of judgement when making decisions. Accurate and comprehensive handling of patient information, by phone, in person or in documentation, in a timely and confidential manner is required and the efficient and effective utilisation of Lyell McEwin Hospital resources in performing this role.




Special Conditions: This is a part time position working 30 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. The Emergency Department is a twenty four hour service department. Any additional hours worked may be required to be offset by time off in lieu. The incumbent must be available to work in other clerical areas within the hospital and participate in multiskilling job rotation programs.The incumbent will be based at the Lyell McEwin Hospital or other sites under the responsibility of the Central Northern Adelaide Health Service.
