Duties: These positions contribute to the State Budget process, provide policy advice on budgetary and financial issues, and monitor the financial performance of government agencies and businesses. You must have sound oral and written communication skills, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Critical to your success will be a proactive approach and a ‘can do’ attitude. You will work in a collaborative team environment and have contact as required with departmental and branch executives, and senior staff of government agencies and ministerial offices.




Essential Minimum Qualifications: Tertiary level qualifications in accountancy, finance, business management, economics, commerce or other relevant fields.




Special Conditions: Some out of hours work may be required, particularly around State Budget time in order to meet critical deadlines. These positions may be offered on either a full time or part time basis where mutually agreed. Salary will be adjusted accordingly.

SENIOR TAXATION INVESTIGATOR

Duties: The Senior Taxation Investigator is responsible to a Principal Compliance Officer for undertaking major investigations and high level research into new and/or established areas of taxation. The incumbent is required to contribute to the development of the Branch’s compliance programs and provide a team leader and coordinator role in respect of the conduct of compliance programs. The Senior Investigator is also required to inform clients in the private sector and industry or professional bodies on RevenueSA policy and their liabilities to encourage their compliance and provide high levels of client service.




Special Conditions: Some country or interstate work involving overnight absences and after hours work will be involved. Possession of, and willingness to use a current Drivers Licence is essential. Applicants are required to authorise a check of Police Offender History Records, and the successful applicant must not have been found guilty of any relevant offence. Duties: This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified Senior Financial Accountant to lead the Financial Accounting team of this diverse agency. With the primary responsibility being the management of the Financial Accounting Team you will lead the production of annual financial statements for the Department and related entities. Key initiatives include process improvement through policy development, providing expert accounting advice, mentor staff and development.The successful candidate will have well developed management skills, proven analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to provide contemporary business solutions within the SA Government environment. CPA/CA designation will be viewed upon favourably. Proven experience in financial accounting in a complex environment, including analysis and presentation of financial data and reports to senior management is a requirement.

Duties: The Principal Analyst National Quality & Safety Strategies is responsible for providing strategic support for implementation of the national initiatives within South Australia (including policy, planning and project management), provision of strategic analysis and advice and monitoring and evaluating strategy progress, acting as key liaison point for the Office of the Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care (and its successor) and members of the State Quality Officers Forum, and monitoring and reporting on implementation of the initiatives.




Special Conditions: This position is temporary for an initial period of up to 12 months with the possibility of an extension. The incumbent will uphold the values of the Department of Health as reflected in the Strategic Plan. The incumbent may be required to enter into an annual performance agreement for the achievement of program outcomes. Intra  and interstate travel will be required. Only ongoing/permanent employees of the Department of Health portfolio (i.e. Department of Health and health units/services) are eligible to apply for this vacancy.
