Duties: To assist with the efficient and effective management of the Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) functions relating to the Department and selected bureau clients. To calculate and lodge the monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS) and annual FBT return for the Department and selected bureau clients. To provide advice including guidance and information relating to FBT and GST legislation including technical analysis. To monitor the legislative and operational requirements to the Department's and selected bureau clients FBT and GST obligations. The collation of supporting documentation as required for the substantiation and record keeping requirements of the Australian Taxation Office. The development of appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines to discharge the Department's GST and FBT obligations. The provision and maintenance of effective communication and training to DAIS business units and bureau clients on taxation related matters.




Amended Essential Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate tertiary qualifications are no longer essential. Desirable Qualifications: Completed or studying towards a degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent.




Special Conditions: Some intra/interstate travel involving overnight absences may be required.

Amended Duties: The Communications Officer is responsible for ensuring an excellent corporate image for all TAFE SA Campuses and Learning centres across the Limestone Coast region. They are also responsible for providing an advisory service to TAFE SA officers on the preparation of publications and advertising, consistent with TAFE SA protocols, departmental standards, and quality requirements. The position initiates prepares, proof reads, coordinates, monitors and reports on the advertising activities of the region. The position develops and coordinates special events, promotional campaigns and open days, solicits sponsorship and donations for publications and public relations events and prepares advertising and publicity for Institute and TAFE SA displays, events and exhibitions.
