President McHenry’s theme for the 2006-07 year was “Connecting People and Building Careers.” Membership on July 1, 2006, was 1731 and 1986 on June 30, 2007, representing a 14.73% net increase in membership and placing the division in second place standing within both the Southwest District and within the association.
Texas-Louisiana Division Inc. began the fiscal year with 38 chapters, chartered two new chapters with two chapters disbanding, and ending the year with 38 chapters. These statistics equate to a 0.0% net gain for the Division. There was not a chapter in the Southwest District that showed a net gain in number of chapters this year.
The 2006 International Convention and Education Forum was held in July 2006 in Reno, Nevada, with President McHenry attending as Delegate and President-Elect Gray attending as Alternate. Four of the five T-L Division Board members attended the meeting.
The Division donated $200 to the Retirement Trust Foundation. Additionally, $50 was donated to the Retirement Trust Foundation for the purchase of a patio paver in honor of Sharon Chelette CPS/CAP, immediate past division president.
The Texas-Louisiana Division was awarded the 2007 Avery Great Results Achievement Award on the Division level and will be awarded $1,000 at the 2007 International Convention in Tampa, Florida, to be used towards future educational programs within the division.
The 55th Annual Meeting was held May 18-20, 2007, at the Crowne Plaza Downtown in Houston, Texas, with the theme “Round-Up Success & Lasso Your Future.” Total registration was 221 members, representing twenty-nine chapters and five members at large, and 58 first-time attendees. Southwest District Director Karlena Rannals CPS/CAP attended the Annual Meeting and provided the State of the District Address during the business session as well as assisted in the officer installation.
Sheila Dotson CPS/CAP, Bryan-College Station Chapter, was recognized as the 2007 Division Member of the Year during the Recognition luncheon.
To encourage chapter newsletters, the Division board approved a “Newsletter Award” contest. Seventeen chapters entered with the division members voting the Pelican Chapter’s newsletter as the 2007 winner.
All division members had the opportunity to be involved in the “Sharing IAAP $150 BINGO.” The members achieving BINGO on their card during the period of October 1, 2006 through April 30, 2007, were entered into a drawing for a $150 check. Joan Teeling CPS, North Dallas Chapter, was the winner.
The Board made the decision to award scholarships to four T-L Division IAAP active members, member’s immediate family, children, or grandchildren. The following individuals received a $500 scholarship: Jennifer Jones, a business accounting major attending Blinn College, Bryan, Texas; Rebecca Thorpe, a business management major attending Tomball Community College District, Tomball, Texas; Anna Saenz, a business management major attending the University of Houston-Downtown Campus, Houston, Texas; and Danielle Young, a business major attending the University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas.
Chapters with the greatest percentage of their membership in attendance at the 2007 Annual Meeting, based upon April 30, 2007, membership totals were recognized:
5-15 members – Tyler Chapter, Tyler, Texas, 33.33% attendance

16-35 members – Dallas Suburban Chapter, Dallas, Texas, 20.0% attendance

36-55 members – Galveston County Chapter, Galveston, Texas, 4211% attendance

56-85 members – Clear Lake/NASA Area Chapter, Houston, Texas, 22.08% attendance

85+ members – Medical Center Chapter , Houston, Texas, 20.18% attendance
To encourage membership recruitment, the member recruiting the most new members between July 1, 2006, and April 30, 2007 would receive $100 as the "Essential Piece Award.” The winner of this award was Debra Pruitt CPS/CAP, City of Houston Chapter, who recruited twenty-seven new members. A second-place prize of a $50 gas card was present to Judy Welch, Pelican Chapter, who recruited twenty-four new members.
Monetary awards were given to the chapters who gained the greatest percentage net increase in membership from July 1, 2006, through April 30, 2007, in the following categories:
5-15 members – Coastal Bend Chapter, Corpus Christi, Texas, 150.0% net gain

16-35 members – Pelican Chapter, Shreveport, Louisiana, 74.07% net gain

36-55 members – Clear Lake/NASA Area Chapter, Houston, Texas, 40.0% net gain

56-85 members – Shaw Corporate Chapter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 82.35% net gain

85+ members – Medical Center Chapter , Houston, Texas, 12.37% net gain
The President’s Award was offered again this year involving an incentive extended to Chapter Presidents with a challenge to earn a President’s Award clock. Those Presidents who met the designated criteria were:

Division Officers presented programs during the thirty-nine chapter visits made throughout the year, presented five leadership workshops, and held three Chapter Officer-Training Workshops in 3 cities: Houston, Texas; Alexandria, Louisiana; and Dallas, Texas.

President Gray's theme for the 2007 – 2008 year was “On the Road to Success… Together Everyone Achieves More.” Membership on July 1, 2007, was 1,986 and 2,122 on June 30, 2008, representing a 6.85% net increase in membership and placing the division in third place standing within the Southwest District.
Texas-Louisiana Division Inc. began the fiscal year with 38 chapters. The ExxonMobil South Chapter chartered on June 27 with 18 charter members. The Division ended the year with 39 chapters, a 2.63% increase.
The 2007 International Convention and Education Forum was held in July 2007 in Tampa, Florida, with President Gray attending as Delegate and President-Elect Dunbar attending as Alternate. All five of the T-L Division Board members attended the meeting.

Southwest District Director Karlena Rannals CPS/CAP attended the Annual Meeting and provided the State of the District Address during the business session as well as assisted in the officer installation.
Judith (Judy) Stephens CPS/CAP, Las Colinas Chapter, was recognized as the 2008 Division Member of the Year during the Recognition luncheon.

56-85 members – Woodlands Area Chapter, The Woodlands, Texas, 37.04% attendance

85+ members – Clear Lake/NASA Area Chapter , Houston, Texas, 23.91% attendance
To encourage membership recruitment, the member recruiting the most new members between July 1, 2007, and April 30, 2008 would receive $100 as the "Shining Star Award.” Two awards were given this year: Debra Pruitt CPS/CAP, City of Houston Chapter, recruited twelve new professional members and Mark Miller, Student Advisor for Career Technical College in Shreveport, Louisiana, recruited twenty-one new Student Members.

85+ members – West Houston Chapter , Houston, Texas, 11.86% net gain

Division Officers presented programs to 29 chapters, participated in three chapter's half-day seminars, installed the new officers of 17 chapters and held three Chapter Officer-Training Workshops in three cities: Houston, Texas; Alexandria, Louisiana; and Dallas, Texas. Benefits of membership was presented to three companies who requested information about IAAP.
