1972-73

Azalea Chapter (Lafayette) was installed by Baton Rouge Chapter.
Division members serving on the International Level were: Helen M. White CPS, President-Elect; Dorothy I. Robinson CPS, Southwest District Director; Mary E. Jones CPS, Southwest District Trustee, Home Trust Fund; and Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, Institute for Certifying Secretaries.
The 21st Annual Meeting was held in Beaumont at the Ridgewood Motor Hotel, May 18-20, with Beaumont Chapter as host. Total registration was 290.
Melba Ernst CPS, Anacacho Chapter, San Antonio, was selected Division Secretary of the Year, and the Southwest District Secretary of the Year. She was selected International Secretary of the Year at the 1973 International Convention.

1973-74

Membership increased to 1,901 as of April 15, 1974.
Three chapters relinquished their charters during this year: DeLeon (Victoria), Sulphur Springs, and Tall Timber (Lufkin). Two new chapters were installed: Cane River, Natchitoches, Louisiana, sponsored by Pelican; and Capital, Austin, Texas, sponsored by Ana Lofley CPS.
There were 23 active FSA Chapters after the installation at the Grambling College.
Division members serving on the International Level were: Dorothy T. Robinson CPS, 2nd Vice President and Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, Institute for Certifying Secretaries.
The Annual Meeting was held at the Sheraton-Bossier Inn in Shreveport, Louisiana, May 17-19, with Pelican Chapter as host. The total registration was 299.
Dora Moody, Trinity Chapter (Fort Worth), was selected Division Secretary of the Year.

1974-75

Education/Programs were highlights of the year with all chapters being encouraged to draw regular members through good programs and continuing education opportunities.
A record number of chapters received achievement awards. Membership again increased to just under 2,000.
Division members serving on the International Level were: Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, Research and Education Seminar Team and Doris R. Towns CPS, Houston Chapter, Southwest District Member of CPS Service Committee.
The 23rd Annual Meeting was held at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio Hotel in San Antonio, May 16-18, 1975, with Anacacho Chapter as host.
Faye Box CPS, Houston Chapter, was selected Division Secretary of the Year.

1975-76

There was a membership increase of 437, bringing the total membership to 2,139.
During the year two new chapters were installed: Edinburg by Sundial (Harlingen) and San Marcos by Anacacho (San Antonio). Abilene Chapter relinquished its charter.
There were 128 secretaries certified during the 1975-76 fiscal year within the Division, with 57 of them being NSA members.
Galveston County Chapter hosted the Southwest District Region I Conference.
Division members serving on the International Level were: Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, Research and Education Seminar Team and Doris R. Towns CPS, Houston Chapter, Southwest District Member of the CPS Service committee.
The 24th Annual Meeting was at the Inn of Six Flags, Arlington, hosted by Golden Triangle Chapter with an attendance of 274.
Margaret W. Monte CPS, Brazoria County Chapter, was selected Division Secretary of the Year.

1976-77

Treasurer Betty Crawford CPS, Trinity Chapter (Fort Worth)
Two new chapters were installed: Dixie Gem (Ruston, Louisiana) and Amarillo.
Five new FSA chapters were installed.
The CPS examination resulted in 190 new Certified Professional Secretaries in our Division, with 78 being members of NSA.
Division members serving on the International Level were: Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, Research and Education Seminar Team and Doris R. Towns CPS, Houston Chapter, Chairman of the CPS Service Committee.
The 25th Annual Meeting was held in Baton Rouge hosted by Baton Rouge Chapter. The theme of the meeting was L'Excursion.
Prebble C. Luthultz CPS, Houston Chapter, was selected Division Secretary of the Year.
