Duties: A range of mental health services are offered to the population of Noarlunga based on key directions and planning such as outlined in the National Mental Health Plans. Provide leadership and direction to the two separate multi disciplinary services. The Mobile Assertive Care Service(MACS) provides intensive clinical case management to people within the community who have a substantial, long term psychiatric disability, and who have a complex range of needs. The Shared Care service offers support to people with long term illness and disability issues in a shared care model with general practitioners and other service providers. Undertakes operational management including administrative support, monitoring of service provision, data collection and usage and service evaluation and will have a clinical function.




Essential Minimum Qualifications: For appointment at the PSO3 level, A degree level qualification in the social work discipline to a standard accepted by the Chief Executive and eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or Appropriate qualification from a recognised tertiary institution giving eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association where appropriate (i.e .Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist ). For appointment at the RN3 Band B level, Registered as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nurses Board of South Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate.




Special Conditions: Job and Person Specifications are reviewed regularly as part of the ongoing Performance Development process. May be required to work within other locations of the Southern Adelaide Health Service. Initial appointment will be to CRARS, but the composition, structure and focus of these services may alter in line with organisational and divisional changes. May be required to do some weekend work, or participate on an ‘on call’ roster as negotiated with the Director. The incumbent may be required to undertake a proportion of their duties as a clinician, varying according to the needs of the organisation. Will be required to work in the homes of the clients of the service, and in a variety of other hospital and community locations.Some travel may be required. Duties: The Western Hospital at Home Service is one element of the region’s strategy for providing intensive treatment for those clients with an acute illness who would normally require hospitalisation. Provide a preferred treatment modality for such clients who are suffering ‘early’ or ‘first episode’ psychosis. Will have both clinical and administrative responsibilities for planning, coordination and provision of effective care by the service; monitoring and service evaluation; operational management of the service; providing leadership, direction and supervision to a multidisciplinary service; ongoing development of the service as a viable and substantial alternative to conventional inpatient treatment.




Essential Minimum Qualifications: For appointment at the RN3 Band B level   Registered as a General Nurse with the Nurses Board of South Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. For appointment at the PSO3 level   Appropriate qualification from a recognised tertiary institution giving eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association where appropriate.




Special Conditions: The incumbent will be based at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital or other sites under the responsibility of the Central Northern Adelaide Health Service. Some out of hours work may be required. A current driver's licence and willingness to drive is essential.
