The MLK/Drew Early Assessment Team is a multidisciplinary team comprised of a Developmental Pediatrician, a Public Health Nurse, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a DCFS Social Worker. The team provides medical and forensic exams, treatment and referral services to children ages birth to 18. Medical exams are conducted for the purpose of evaluating neglect, physical abuse and the child’s overall medical condition, (ie. trauma, injury, disease or pregnancy), evaluating evidence of sexual abuse, collecting forensic material and documenting physical findings.
