1964-65


President Bobbie Jones, Brazoria County Chapter

Wichita Falls Chapter was installed by the Lawton, Oklahoma Chapter.
Seven FSA Chapters were installed by Big D Chapter (Dallas), two by Golden Triangle Chapter, Palo Duro Chapter, two by Permian Chapter, and Tall Timber Chapter.
The first division Honorary Membership was conferred upon Dr. Raymond P. Witte, New Orleans, Louisiana.
The 13th Annual Meeting was held May 14-16, 1965, in Shreveport with Pelican Chapter as host. There were 215 in attendance, representing 31 of the 41 chapters in the division, including chapter-at-large.
Johnnie C. Bowers CPS, Big D Chapter (Dallas), was selected the division Secretary of the Year.

The 14th Annual Meeting was held in San Antonio, hosted by Anacacho Chapter.
Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, was selected division Secretary of the Year and later named the Southwest District candidate for International Secretary of the Year. At the International convention held in July 1966, in Dallas, Texas, she was selected as the 1966 International Secretary of the Year.

One new chapter was installed, Tierra Blanca Chapter (Canyon, Texas), giving the division a total of 40 chapters.
Mr. Ted Beers, Manager of the Personnel Department at Texas Instruments, Inc., Dallas, was named management member on the Institute for Certifying Secretaries.
Three new FSA chapters were installed: one by Beaumont Chapter, and two by Desk Set Chapter (Corpus Christi), making a total of twelve FSA chapters in the division.
Connie Pendergast CPS, 1966 International Secretary of the Year, was awarded a gold plate at the Academy of Achievement Awards dinner held in Dallas, becoming the first secretary to achieve this recognition.
The 1966 International convention was held in Dallas, Texas.
The 15th Annual Meeting was held May 26-28, 1967, at the Galvez Hotel in Galveston, hosted by Galveston County Chapter. Attendance at the meeting was 244.
Doris R. Towns CPS, Houston Chapter, was selected division Secretary of the Year.

A total of thirteen Leadership Clinics were held for a total attendance of 307, with 38 out of the 40 chapters represented. Membership as of April 15, 1968, was 1,569. Three FSA Chapters were installed, one by San Jacinto Chapter (Baytown) and two by Anacacho Chapter (San Antonio).

The 16th Annual Meeting was held at the Robert Driscoll Hotel in Corpus Christi with Desk Set Chapter as host. Attendance was 198.
Honorary membership was conferred on Dr. Lois G. Morrison, Dean of Women Emeritus, San Antonio College, San Antonio, Texas.
Bobbye Ogden Brown CPS, Big D Chapter (Dallas), was selected division Secretary of the Year and was later named Southwest District Secretary of the Year candidate to International. She was selected 1968 International Secretary of the Year.
