Due to the February 1969, resignation of Paula Frolick, Division Secretary, the Division Board of Directors appointed Polly Peters CPS, Big D Chapter (Dallas), to serve as Secretary for the remainder of the fiscal year.
After three years' work by three different committees, the Division Chapter Procedure Manual was completely revised, published and distributed to chapters in the Division. Also, the Annual Meeting Manual was updated and reprinted. This year, THE TEXANA was mailed to every member in the Division.
Division membership increased to 1,619 as of April 15, 1969.
Three new chapters were installed: Coastal Bend (Corpus Christi), NASA-Clear Lake, and Abilene. Desk Set Chapter (Corpus Christi) relinquished their charter, making a total of 41 chapters in the Division as of May 31, 1969. Division FSA chapters totaled 22. The FSA Committee was responsible for publishing the FSA, THE EASY WAY.
With the 1968 CPS examination, 41 individuals obtained their CPS rating, bringing the total of CPS recipients in the Division to 483.
Division members serving on the International Level were: Betty Green CPS, Trinity Chapter (Fort Worth), Education; Hilda R. Poppell CPS, NOLA Chapter (New Orleans) Home Service; Joyce Reynolds CPS, Big D Chapter (Dallas), Membership; Illien Austin CPS, Houston Chapter, Rules and Bylaws; Gwen Mayo CPS, LaPine Chapter (Alexandria) Chairman of Secretaries Week; and Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, Chairman of the Secretary of the Year.
The 17th Annual Meeting was held May 16-18, 1969, at the Sheraton-Lincoln Hotel, Houston, with Houston Chapter as host. The theme was "Reaching for Stars." Attendance was 252.
Honorary Membership in the Division was conferred upon Mrs. Flonnie Mae Larimer, who had served as Division Registered Parliamentarian since 1956 at the Division Annual Meetings. Mrs. Larimer became the third Honorary Member, the other two being Dr. Lois G. Morrison of San Antonio, Texas and Dr. Raymond P. Witte, of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Awards were presented to the following chapters: Bulletin--Pelican (Shreveport) and Houston; Newsletter--Denton and Sun & Sage (El Paso); Membership--Garimeca, Palo Duro, Pelican, and Trinity (Fort Worth); CPS Trophy--Ouachita Valley; Travel to Annual Meeting--Resort City (Mineral Wells).
Caye Kominek CPS, San Jacinto Chapter (Baytown), was selected Division Secretary of the Year.

1969-70

Membership in the Division as of April 15, 1970 was 1,661.
Hereford Chapter relinquished its charter. The Richmond-Rosenberg Chapter was installed by Houston Chapter.
Six new FSA Chapters were installed, two by Port Chapter (Lake Charles), NOLA Chapter (New Orleans), Houston Chapter, Anacacho Chapter (San Antonio), and Palo Duro Chapter.
The 18th Annual Meeting was held May 15-17, 1970, at the Green Oaks Inn, Fort Worth, with Trinity Chapter as host. Final registration was 278.
Awards were presented to the following chapters: Bulletin--Channel (Pasadena), NOLA (New Orleans), Pelican (Shreveport), Houston; Newsletter--Resort City; Education--Ouachita Valley (Monroe, West Monroe), Beaumont, NOLA (New Orleans), and Houston; Membership--Tierra Blanca, Bryan-College Station, NOLA, and Houston; Travel--DeLeon Chapter (Victoria); and CPS Trophy--Ouachita Valley.
Ann Fallon Hudson CPS, Houston Chapter, was selected Division Secretary of the Year and was later named the Southwest District Secretary of the Year. She was selected 1970 International Secretary of the Year.

1970-71

Membership in the Division as of April 15, 1971, was 1,757 in 41 chapters.
Bluebonnet Chapter, Waco, Texas, relinquished its charter and a new chapter was installed, Sulphur Springs Chapter.
Seven FSA Chapters ere installed by Coastal Bend (Corpus Christi), Houston, NASA-Clear Lake, Ouachita Valley (Monroe, West Monroe), Pelican (Shreveport), and Richmond-Rosenberg Chapters.
The 19th Division Annual Meeting was hosted by Sun and Sage Chapter, El Paso, at the Holiday Inn, May 21-23, with a final registration of 218.

Certificates were presented to the following chapters: Bulletin--Denton, Permian (Midland), Golden Triangle (Fort Worth), NOLA (New Orleans), and Houston; Newsletter--Sun & Sage (El Paso); CPS Trophy--Ouachita Valley (Monroe, West Monroe); Education--Odessa, Ouachita Valley, Bryan-College Station, Houston; Membership--Resort City, Bryan-College Station, NOLA, and Pelican (Shreveport); Travel Award--Richmond-Rosenberg.


Jimmie D. O'Hare CPS, NASA-Clear Lake Chapter, was selected Division Secretary of the Year.

1971-72

Ouachita Valley Chapter (Monroe) won the International CPS Trophy by acquiring the greatest percentage of CPS recipients as of April 30, 1971.
Permian Chapter (Midland) installed Basin NSA Chapter at Crane, Texas.
Three new FSA chapters were installed: LaPine (Alexandria), Garland, and Pelican (Shreveport).
Division member serving on the International Level was: Connie Pendergast CPS, Houston Chapter, member Institute for Certifying Secretaries.
The 20th Annual Meeting was held in May 1972, at the Monteleone Hotel in New Orleans, with NOLA Chapter as host.
Demp Toney CPS, Tower Lights Chapter (Austin), was selected Division Secretary of the Year.
