4594 AUST WW2 ORIGINAL SIGNATURE OF AIR GUNNER FLYING OFFICER GEORGE RONALD GILBERT WARNE. Born in Kew, Victoria 1921, Fl. Off. Warne enlisted in the RAAF in 1941. He served with 7,8 and 32 Squadrons flying 135 sorties in total. Signature is on a 'Golden Anniversary of the RAAF' First Day Cover, dated 1971. All mounted on an A-4 card with a brief biography and copy of a wartime B & W photo of the F1. Off. in uniform. Grade II $45

4595 AUST WW2 ORIGINAL SIGNATURE OF FLIGHT LIEUTENANT HUGH D.H. LEARMONTH DFM. Born in Portland, Victoria in 1917, Flt. Lt. Learmonth enlisted in the RAAF in 1940. He flew two tours of duty with 2 Squadron. Signatures are contained on a blank business card and a slightly larger piece of matching card with a postmarked '6c' stamp featuring RAAF Mirages. All contained on a A-4 size piece of card with a brief biography and a copy of a large B & W wartime image of Flt. Lt. Learmonth in his WW2 uniform. Grade II $45

4601 GB MODERN SIGNATURE OF GENERAL SIR HUGH MICHEAL ROSE ON FIRST DAY COVER COMMEMORATING THE EVOLUTION OF 'BRITISH ARMY UNIFORMS'. General Sir Hugh Michael Rose KCB, CBE, SDO, QGM (born 1940 in what was then British India), often known as Mike Rose, is a retired British Army General. He commanded the 22 Special Air was also Commander of UNPROFOR Bosnia in 1994 during the Yugoslav Wars. Limited edition number 46 of 200. Cover has colour illustrations of Grenadier Guards uniform from 1740 to 1940 and a separate portion devoted to camouflage uniform. Large ink signature. Cover contains a brief biography of Rose. 4602 GB WW2 MODERN RARE SIGNATURE OF AIR CHIEF MARSHALL SIR RALPH COCHRANE ON A 1971 DATED FIRST DAY COVER COMMEMORATING THE '60th ANNIVERSARY OF THE 1sT LONG DISTANCE INTERNATIONAL AIR RACE'. Cover has a colour illustration of a Bristol Blenheim MK 1 light bomber. Air Chief Marshal Sir Ralph Alexander Cochrane, GBE, KCB, AFC, RAF (24 February 1895-17 December 1977) was a British pilot and Royal Air Force officer, perhaps best known for his role in planning Operation Chastise, the famous ;Dambusters' raid. Ink signature in black pen. Cover has some slight age related yellowing to the paper. Few items and documents are ever sighted with Cochrane's signature. An exceptionally rare signature of one of the most historically important figures in the WW2 RAF. $375

Major General Sir John Jeremy Moore KCB, OBE, MC & Bar (5 July 1928-15 September 2007) was the commander of the British land forces during the Falklands War in 1982. Moore received the surrender of the Argentine forces on the islands. Limited edition number 46 of 200. 4625 GERM WW2 LARGE FRAMED PROPAGANDA POSTER TITLED "SOZIALISMUS- AUF ENGLISCH!" (Socialism - in the English). German text with 2 large b/w sketches, one depicting a wealthy gentleman wearing a top hat, vomiting up his food, etc (Gluttony - eaten too much) as he is about to enter his horse drawn coach, his servant holding the door open. The other depicts a poorer person standing hunched over, on the edge of a shipping dock. Printed in Munich and dated 1940. Nicely mounted in a modern glazed wooden frame. Size 94cm high, 130cm long. Karl Hulshoff (24 victories). All signatures on 1972 dated first day cover presented on A4 card w/ photograph of the 4 pilots during war time and short biographies of each pilot. A nice display piece and a rare chance to obtain 4 signatures of high scoring Nachtj„ger fighter pilots. Grade II. $150

4627 GERM WW2 VERY RARE GESTAPO ADDRESSED ENVELOPE FOR AACHEN. Envelope only, no contents. Made of thick brown paper with 4 "Dienstmarke Deutsches Reich" postage stamps postmarked "29.5.37" to the obverse. Measures approx. 175x125mm. Red ink stamp "Einschreiben" (Registered) to the obverse. Large ink stamp in black to the obverse "die Staatspolizeistelle" (The state police office). Under this is a name and details but it is hand written in old German and very difficult to translate. Nice clear ink Gestapo stamp with the NSDAP eagle and swastika to the centre and "Geheime Staatspolizei, Staatspolizeistelle Aachen" printed around the outer. Small stick-on postal label marked "R" and "Aachen 1 422 z". Small tear to the top of the obverse near the stamps, but does not detract from presentation or display. Back of the envelope has been torn open to view contents. A scarce and impressive Gestapo item. Grade II-. $195

A fawn coloured card, approx the size of a playing card, the front with a black printed "1939" to the top, a black printed SA style eagle/swastika to the centre and wording to the bottom "Deutschland Uber Alles". The reverse has the 1939 calender and wording to the bottom "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer." Shows age. Grade II- $35

4630 GERM WW2 LARGE FORMAT DEATH CARD. Unusually large measuring approx. 235mm by 180mm. States that Alfred Schmidt of Goldisthal, born 10.12.1922, was badly wounded on 8.7.1942 and died 7.8.1942 in Warsaw. No photo, but large representation of a 1939 Iron Cross to the top of the card. Showing some age related yellowing to the cardboard. Aninteresting variant. Grade II- $45

4631 GERM WW2 DEATH CARD TO LUFTWAFFE GEFREITER ADOLF WUHRER. Extra large size measuring approx. 210mm by 150mm. Wuhrer was killed late in the war, in September 1944. Has a studio portrait photo of Wuhrer in his Luftwaffe fliegerbluse. Small image of a 1939 Iron Cross. Has creases from being folded into quarters. Grade II- $35

4636 GERMAN WW2 WINTER RELIEF FUND MINIATURE PICTORIAL BOOKLETS FOR THE YEARS 1934, 35, 36 and 38. Full of B & W images of Hitler and the early Third Reich period. The booklets detail Hitler's achievements prior to WW2. Each miniature booklet measures approx. 50mm by 35mm. These booklets were received for donations to the 'Winter-Hilfswerk' (WHW) to assist those Germans in need of assistance during the winter months. O/A Grade II- $95

4637 GERM WW2 SMALL GROUP OF NAZI EPHEMERA. Three items including :(1) A magazine 'junge welt' (young world) for the Hitler Youth. Dated July 1941 and his interesting articles, ads and B&W photos from the period. (2) reichsnahrstand (Reich office for agriculture) 7 page invitation and calendar of events for the national horticulture conference 1 Feb. 1939 Small 'reichsnahrstand' eagle and swastika and motto 'blut and boden' (blood and earth) to the front cover. (3) NSDAP political leaders communication on NSDAP letter head. Typed communication ended with 'Heil Hitler' and signed by a Kreisleiter (Area party official). Dated 1st April 1941. Stamped with a red ink NSDAP eagle and swastika stamp. Grade II- $50

4638 GERM WW2 LARGE AND IMPOSING COVER FROM A NSDAP BOOKLET OR PAMPHLET. Measuring in at approx. A-4 paper size, this was apparently a cover from a local NSDAP group pamphlet or booklet. Large and impressive variation of the NSDAP eagle and swastika featuring a larger, wider eagle clutching a swastika contained within a wreath and red and black NSDAP swastika flags to each side. Under this is written 'Veranstaltungen Unserer Ortsgruppe' (Events of our local group). Some yellowing to the paper from age. Missing a very small piece of one corner. Certainly an item worthy of framing for the WW2 or Third Reich collector. Grade II- $100

4639 GERM WW2 SMALL BOOKLET FOR THE WINTER RELIEF FUND. 'WINTERHILFSWERK (WHW)'. Entitled 'Helden Der Wehrmacht' (Heroes of the Armed Forces). Measures approx. 50mm by 70mm 10 pages including the front and back covers. Purchased to show that the good citizen had made a contribution to the WHW fund. The WHW ran from 1933-1945 during the months of October through to March and was designed to provide food, clothing, coal and other items to less fortunate Germans during the winter months. This example features Knights Cross winner Gunter Schwartzkopff of the Luftwaffe. Brief story and some B&W illustrations. Some age related yellowing to the pages. Grade II- $35

The WHW ran from 1933-1945 during the months of October through to March and was designed to provide food, clothing, coal and other items to less fortunate Germans during the winter months. This example features Knights Cross winner Hellmuth Arpke of the Luftwaffe. Brief story and some B&W illustrations. Some age related yellowing to the pages. Grade II- $35

4641 GERM WW2 SS CANTEEN MONEY FOR THE "BUCHENWALD" CONCENTRATION CAMP. Cream coloured paper with a faint green inner pattern measuring approx 73mm by 105mm. Writing to the obverse "SS Standort-Kantine, Buchenwald, Aussenkommando Ko. Rottleberode Wertmarke RM 50" or roughly translated "SS site canteen external command, Ko. Rottleberode token." Face value of .5 Reichmarks. Buchenwald was established in 1937 and quickly became part of the infamous network of Nazi death camps. "Rottleberode" was a subsidiary camp of Buchenwald. Some age related yellowing and soiling to the paper and some fraying to the edges. These "token" style of SS canteen notes are an affordible item of SS concentration camp memorabilia and have a great historic value from a dark history in human history. Grade II- $125

4643 GERM WW2 GROUP OF DOCUMENTS, PHOTOS AND PAPERWORK TO 'GEORGE FLICK' AND FAMILY. Spans the period from 1896 to 1967. Includes 11 B & W photos, 8 of which are WW1 military related (portraits and group photos of German soldiers). 5 assorted birthday/postcards. 'Arbeitsbuch' (Work Book) for Peter Flick dated 1896. Bank saving book for George Flick dated 1918/19. Registered mail dated 20th Sept. 1939 which appears to be the decision of a court proceeding regarding agriculture. Official ink NSDAP eagle and swastika stamp. 5 other assorted documents relating to the family. Interesting items of history. O/a Grade II- $50

4644 GERM WW2 PRISONER OF WAR ITEMS TO A GERMAN POW HELD IN THE USA. Consists of three official US War Dept Technical Manuals for Germans POWs learning English and two hand turned plates to POW Viktor Fenzl. The three different manuals are dated July and August 1945. All 3 have an ink stamp to the inside "Sold by The Prisoner of War Camp Canteen Camp Wheeler, Georgia CENSORED". Manuals are in good condition showing some light wear and soiling to the covers and age related yellowing to the pages. Plates have been hand turned and feature decorative carvings to both. Both have engraved "Erinnerung an die Kriegsgefangenschaft" (memories of my captivity) Opelika USA 1943-44. The two plates measure approx 180 in diameter and have a hanging device to the reverse. Many of the earlier POWs to come to Opelika were captured in North Africa. An interest POW group. Grade II- $250

4645 GERM WW2 RARE LETTER FROM THE INFAMOUS AUSCHWITZ CONCENTRATION CAMP DATED MAY 1942. Pro forma letter from a prisoner to his mother. Single sheet of paper folded in half to make 4 pages in total of approx. A5 size. Hand written letter in old German script. Two inside pages written in very carefully rehersed language as not to upset the censors! The hand writing is clear but a lettle difficult to decipher due to the old German script. Dated 22nd May 1942. Front page sets out the rules and regulations for communications under the heading "KONZENTRATIONSLAGER AUSCHWITZ". Letter is in very good condition with some age related yellowing but very little soling or wear. Has a centre crease from being folded in half. Red ink censors stamp inside. An item not often seen for sale. Grade II $250

4646 GERM WW2 RARE U-BOAT FELDPOST STAMPS. These feldpost stamps were used by the troops of the 31st Infantry Division trapped on the Hel Peninsula off Gdansk Poland in early 1945. Consists of 2 stamps, side by side with the remains of another stamp above each example. Both feature a small image of a U-boat and the wording 'Deutsche Feldpost', durch U-boat. Light blue-grey ink. The full stamps are quite faded, especially the right hand side example. These stamps were cut by hand (no perforations). A scarce item. Grade II- $175

4647 GERM WW2 RARE U-BOAT FELDPOST STAMPS. These feldpost stamps were used by the troops of the 31st Infantry Division trapped on the Hel Peninsula off Gdansk Poland in early 1945. Consists of 2 stamps, one above the other with approx one third of another stamp still connected to each of the two. Both feature a small image of a U-Boat and the wording 'Deutsche Feldpost, durch U-Boot'. Light blue-grey ink, now quite faded. Rust stain to the centre. These stamps were cut by hand (no perforations). A scarce item. Grade II- $100

The titles are 'Der Fuhrer in den Bergen, Des Fuhrers Kampf in Belgien, Des Fuhrers Kampf in Holland, Des Fuhrers Kampf in Norwegen, Der Fuhrer und fein Volk, Des Kampf zur see and Des Fuhrers Kampf im Osten 5.
