4203 GB CIRCA 1860 COLOURED LITHOGRAPH ADVERTISING POSTER TITLED "THE GUARDS WALTZ" By D Godfrey. Dedicated to Lt Col Sir Charles Russell Bart VC Grenadier Guards. An advertisement for the sale of sheet music. Depicts crossed Regimental colours with a Victoria Cross (early blue ribbon) and badges of the Coldstream, Scots and Grenadier Guards all within a wreath which has the battle honours "Peninsula, Barrosa, Lincelles, Egypt, Talavera, Waterloo, Alma, Inkerman and Sevastopol." Displayed in a modern glazed wooden fram, size approx, 35cm high by 30cm wide. Grade II- $150

4204 GB MODERN FRAMED COLOURED PRINT OF MAJ-GENERAL HECTOR A MACDONALD (FIGHTING MAC) OF THE GORDON HIGHLANDERS. Aide-de camp to Queen Victoria and knighted by King Edward VII. The story of his life is the story of the British Army between 1870 & 1903, India, Afghanistan, South Africa, Egypt, Sudan and South Africa again for the Boer War. He committed suicide on the 25th March 1903 at the Regina Hotel in Paris Glazed wooden frame size approx 36cm x 28cm. Grade II- $50

4205 GB MODERN FRAMED COLOURED PRINT OF FIELD-MARSHAL LORD ROBERTS, 1832-1914, awarded the Victoria Cross for heroism during during the Indian Mutiny at Cawnpore on the 30th Sept 1832. There is a small card placed at the bottom right corner of the print which has an original autograph signed "Roberts FM 21 May 1909." Glazed wooden frame size approx, 41cm high by 33cm wide. Grade II- $125

4206 GB C/1930's PORTRAIT PRINT OF KING GEORGE V from the waist up. He wears the uniform of Colonel-In-chief of the Liverpool regiment. Measures 27 x 38cm in glazed frame with only partial backing on the reverse. Grade II $50

Also with photograph and line drawing of FW 190. Limited edition 27/2000. C/W certificate. Produced by the military gallery. A nice display piece carrying the original signature of a highly decorated Luftwaffe pilot. Grade II. $150

Impressive image of VonWitzeben in his early war tunic and brocade belt, complete with all his award and medals including the knights cross. He is clearly seen clutching his field Marschalls baton. Facsimile signature of Von Witzleben. From a series issued by the 'Volkischer Beobachter' (peoples observer) Newspaper. Comes with some basic research notes. Some age related yellowing to the paper. 4213 US WW2 "BUY EXTRA WAR BONDS" POSTER. Large colour poster, measures approx 700mm by 510mm. Original poster but has been laminated. Features a khaki clad GI wearing a M1 helmet, throwing a grenade. Caption to the top of the poster reads, "LET 'EM HAVE IT". Small lettering to the lower margin reads "US GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 1943." Has crease marks from being folded in to eighths and slight age related to the paper. Ready to be hung. Grade II- $85*

4214 US WW2 "BUY BONDS EVERY PAYDAY" POSTER. Large colourful poster featuring a US air gunner wearing full flight fear in the foreground and a burning Japanese "Zero" to the background. Measures approx 710mm by 560mm. Gunner is at the ready with both hands on his Browning machine gun. Caption to the top of the poster states "YOU can't afford to miss EITHER!" Small lettering to the lower poster "US GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 1944". Has crease marks from being folded in to eighths. Some minor fraying to the edges and slight age related yellowing to the paper. Ideal for framing. Would make a superb backdrop to a WW2 or air force related collection or display. GRADE II- $195*

4215 US WW2 SPECTACULAR LIMITED EDITION PRINT "ACE OF DIAMONDS" FEATURING P-51 MUSTANGS ESCORTING B-17 BOMBERS OVER EUROPE IN LATE 1944. Artwork by Nicolas Trudgian 2003. Careful attention to detail, couple with realistic colours have enabled the artist to faithfully reproduce the central to the scene is the P-51D Mustangs of Donald J Straight and his wingman, Clinton Burdick, of the 356th Fighter Group. Print shows numerous B-17s and their escort fighters and also some German Fw190 fighters that have intercepted the raiders. Below the scene is the original signatures of Maj Gen Donald Strait, Capt Clinton Burdick Lt Col Charles Beck and also the artist, Nicolas Trudgian. Outer frame measures approx 100cm by 71cm and the print approx 74cm by 47cm. Professionally and tastefully framed in such a way as to not detract from the dramatic scene, unfolding above the clouds. The outer surrounding mat has been carefully selected to actually enhance the image. Secure hanging device to the reverse. C/W a Certificate of Authenticity. Limited edition number 48/500. Believed to be mainly Victorian Infantry Regiment Members. Signs of 60, 53, 52, 54 regiment members present. In wooden frame with wooden photo surround. Signed in pencil to reverse (some decipherable) research from names reveal the Sgt's name as BL perkins, another identified as SP Mowbray (served WW2 as Tpt Offr 2/8 Bn). Worthy of further research. 8" x 6". Grade II- $25

Most probably a pre-WW2 late militia period group shot of workshop or course personnel. A nice clear photograph of a RN petty officer, waist up showing uniform, QVC rank and wearing 3 medals, 2 with clasps visible, the ribbons are sewn to the uniform but the medals themselves are not visible as they have been held in place in a narrow breast pocket to stop them swinging around.
