Contains 150 pages with 244 B/W and colour cigarette 'card' photos. 2x larger full page Hitler photos and in the rear of the album is an impressive 130x30mm fold out B/W photo of a 1933 Party meeting. Photography studio produced battle scenes featuring 2 enlisted and an officer in various heroic poses with a studio backdrop of a raging battle. The men are in full battler order with weapons aimed and the officer with his sword drawn. Unused to reverse. An interesting little group of ephemera. Only minor wear from handling. Grade II- $100 4562 GERM WW1 6 COLOUR POSTCARDS FROM THE SERIES 'STEH' ICH FINST'RER MITTERNACHT!'. (I sant in the gloom at midnight!). All 6 studio produced cards feature a lone sentry on duty, apparently deep in thought. To the left of him in the scenes appears an almost ghostly image presumably of his wife or girlfriend. The sentry has his greatcoat on in 3 of the scenes. Nice 'colour' images of WW1 EM. All the postcards have writing to the rear and are dated 1916. Nice little piece of history. Grade II- $100 4563 GERM WW2 POSTCARD COMMEMORATING THE ANNEXATION OF AUSTRIA 13th MARCH 1938. One of the most recognisable of the vast number of Third Reich propaganda postcards. Features side profile of Adolf Hitlers bust in the centre of a map of Germany. Large gilt NSDAP eagle and swastiak to the upper section. Writing to the reverse, large Hitler head postage stamp and postmarked 20th April 1938. Pre-war studio portrait study of Goering when his title was still 'Generalfeldmarschall'. Features chest up shot of Goering taken from the left-hand side wearing one of his many overcoats. Collar tab and shoulder board in view along with one of his numerous breast awards. Some yellowing to the card and light soiling to the edges from handling. Measures approx. 105mm by 150mm. Grade II+ $60 4582 AUST WW2 PERIOD POSTCARD OF THE GERMAN SURRENDER LEAFLETS DROPPED ON THE AUST. 9th DIVISION AT TOBRUK IN 1941. Roughly postcard size approx. 140mm by 90mm. Obverse features a B & W image of the original leaflet stating that the Australians situation was hopeless and that they should surrender. This period made example was most likely produced as a souvenir or for posting back home to family members. No writing to the reverse. Very few of the actual surrender leaflets survived as they came in handy for use as writing paper, cigarette papers or even in some cases used as toilet paper.
