GERM WW2 LARGE B&W PRE-WAR PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE OF WAR GAMES/ TRAINING EXERCISE. Features a machine gun crew in the foreground with an older style weapon. Behind them are several them are several light tanks and above them a half dozen biplanes. Measures approx 22.5cm by 16.cm. Printed on thick card, now slightly yellowed with age. Interesting image as it shows what might be viewed as a precursor to the "Blitzkrieg" tactics used by the Germans, so effectively early in WW2. Grade II $50

GERM WW2 ORIGINAL BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO OF A PANZER OFFICER AND NCO IN BLACK PANZER WRAPS AND M34 SIDE CAPS. Photo measures approx 55mm by 85mm. Potentially the photo is earlier in the war as both the soldiers still have the coloured waffenfarbe piping to their M34 side caps (this was ordered to be removed by OKW in 1942 but some soldiers continued to wear it after that). Both are wearing the Iron Cross 1st class clearly visible on there tunics. Nice detail and worthy of being professionally enlarged by the purchaser if so desired. Grade II- $35

GERM WW2 2 SMALL B & W STUDIO PORTRAIT PHOTOS OF THE SAME YOUNG MAN/YOUTH AS A HITLER YOUTH MEMBER THEN AS AN EM IN THE ARMY. First small photo measures approx. 45mm by 60mm. Features the young man wearing the winter issue HJ jacket with cross strap, scarf with Lederknoten and several HJ badges visible. Dated to the rear 7.12.39 with photographer's details to the rear with a small hand written note. Both nice clear images. Perfect for display with some HJ related badges and insignia. Grade II- $35

GERM WW2 ORIGINAL BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO OF A KNIGHTS CROSS WINNER. Impressive chest up portrait of a full colonel at a parade or ceremony. Approx. 6cm by 9cm size. A very well decorated officer indeed. He wears a M36 style tunic and a combat helmet. His shoulder boards are visible and the 2 rank pips for full colonel can just be made out. He wears the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross at the collar, 1914 1st Class Iron Cross with the 1939 Spange above. Just visible below this is a silver or gold WW1 wound badge. He is also wearing a 5-place medal bar with a mix of WW1/2 awards. Some residue to the reverse, where the photo has been removed from an album. Unfortunately the photo is not annotated to the reverse and the officer is not named. It is entirely possible with a lot of detective work, that the Officer might well be identified. Grade II $50

GERM WW2 LARGE FORMAT B&W PHOTO OF A HEER (ARMY) OFFICER. Measures approx 170mm by 107mm. Features an army officer wearing his 4 pocket tunic, jodhpurs, high boots, gloves & visor cap. To his side is his sword. Clearly visible on his tunic is his ribbon bar, Iron Cross 1st Class with most likely a wound badge in black beneath. Shoulder boards appear to show the rank of Hauptmann (Captain) The Officer stands in the forefront of what would have been a a spectacular view of undulating forest with mountains in the background. Written in pen to the reverse is "Karl Rumpler", presumably the officer featured. A fine looking officer portrait for display. Grade II- $35

NZ WW2 RNZAF PERIOD PRESS PHOTO OF 3 DECORATED RNZAF PILOTS IN SERVICE DRESS TUNICS & CAPS. Very nice study of uniforms & NZ pilot wings. Tear to photo on lower corner names of pilots handwritten on rear. Further research possible. Grade II- $25
