A native of Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Flora Hubbell Parker, and the widow of the late W. T. Wells. Funeral services for William Thomas Wells, 67, farmer of the Weakley Community and a veteran of World War I, were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at Bennett-May Funeral Home, conducted by Andrew Brown of Lawrenceburg, Church of Christ minister. Burial took place in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Mr. Wells died of a heart attack on Monday, February 2, at Giles County Hospital, four days after entering the hospital. Born December 7, 1891, in Giles County, he was the son of the late James Evans Wells and Lona Carter Wells. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Parker Wells; one son, Charles Wells, Weakley; one grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Mason Bell, Weakley, andMrs. Arthur Murphy, Columbia; andtwo brothers, Carter Wells and Edward Wells, Nashville. C. B. Whitfield, age 64, a farmer of the Moriah community, died early Sunday morning at the Hospital at Decatur. He was visiting his daughter, Mrs. Sam Smith in Decatur, and went to the Hospital there for treatment. Funeral services were held at Trinity, Monday, Rev. W. G. Largen and Rev. G. A. Morgan, in charge. Burial at Moriah. Mr. Whitfield was a good farmer, and a faithful member of the Methodist Church at Trinity. He had been Superintendent of the Sunday School there for a long time— perhaps thirty years. And was very seldon absent or tardy. If not there on time, those present worried that something out of the ordinary had happened. In addition to Mrs Smith, Mr. Whitfield is survived by the following sons and daughters: Misses Leila, Mary, and Christine WhitfieldandMrs. Jim Oakes, Jr., all of Giles County; and Thomas Whitfield of Wartrace.

Six months of agonizing pain ended for Miss Daisy Williams, Tuesday afternoon when she passed away at her home on Haywood Creek. A cancerous affection of the hip bones had so weakened the fiber, that the bones collapsed when she was standing before the mirror, about Christman. One broken hip is bad enough. But in her case, both hip bones were broken, and in addition she suffered the agonizing pain of the disease. Funeral and burial services at Moriah

W. Milton Williams died Tuesday morning at the Pulaski Hospital of a kidney trouble he had suffered with a long time. An effort to relieve him by operation, was ineffective. Funeral services were conducted for him by Revs. W. C. Moorehead and S. H. Parks, and burial was at Mt. Moriah Wednesday afternoon. In his 78th year, Mr. Williams was a native Giles Countian, the son of John P. Williams, deceased, who formerly lived in the Cedar Grove locality. He has farmed all his life and success rewarded the intelligent work he put into business. He was a member of and official in Berea Methodist Church and a leader in the civic and agricultural affairs of his community and was highly esteemed as a citizen and man of fine character whose useful life was lived in a quiet and unassuming and unselfish manner. Mr. Williams is survived by his faithful wife, formerly Miss Ella Johnston, of Wales, and five children, namely J. P. Williams, N. C. and St. L. R. R. employee, Mrs. T. C. Allen, Miss Daisy Williams, PerryWilliams, and Robt. Williams all ofGiles County. Brothers are: Frank Williams of the 8th District and Robt. S. Williams of Tulsa, Okla, Mrs. Fillmore Stamper of Jonesboro, Ark., and Mrs. W. J. Shields of Giles County are surviving sisters.
