Mrs. Nancy Long, died Monday at the home of her son Jim Long in the Wales section with whom she had resided since her children had married off. The burial was had at Mt. Moriah Tuesday, Rev. W. H. Beasley conducting services. The procession was one of the longest ever seen in this county. Mrs. Long was about 77 years of age and her life was one of piety and usefulness and she occupied an exalted position in the esteen of all who knew her. She was the mother of Squire H. C. Long, Jim, Sam, and Tom Long, and Mesdames Alley Reynolds and John Rich, and her husband was an uncle of W. B. Long. Peace to her dust.

Ollie Long, 66, merchant at Frankewing, died of a heart attack about 9:30 a. m. Monday at his home in the Frankewing Community following several years of declining health. Funeral services were held at 1 p. m. Wednesday at Bennett-May Funeral Home in Pulaski. The Rev. Mack Pinkelton, Baptist minister, officiated and burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Born September 2, 1891, he was a native of Giles County, a son of the late Henry C. Long and Georgia Hazelwood Long. He was a leader in his community and was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Long is survived by wife, Maggie Rich Long; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Holley, Jr. of Chattanooga; two sons, Butler Long, Tullahoma, and Brannon Long, Chattanooga; six grandchildren; and five brothers, Clyde and Luther Long, Pulaski, Wesley Long, Prospect, Robert Long, Anniston, Ala., and Turner Long, Houston, Texas. A sixth brother, Richard Long, died April 15, 1959.

Willie Long who has been an employee of the town of Pulaski about fifteen years, died about 11 o’clock Wednesday, Jan. 4, at his room upstairs at the Town Hall, where he had been since Friday when he suffered a heart attack. Mr. Long was a good, dependable worker, and made friends of those with whom he came in contact. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John M. Greene, and her husband of Nashville. And two brothers, Clarence Long of Nashville, and Henry Long who is somewhere in Michigan. At time of going to press, funeral arrangements had not been made. Mr. Greene had been here with Mr. Long., but no plans would be made until arrival from Nashville of Mrs. Greene and Clarence Long who were expected sometime about the middle of the afternoon. Mr. Long rested well Tuesday night, and was thought to be improved Wednesday morning. But the heart became weaker, and ceased to beat, about 11 o’clock.

Miss Mildred Lovett, 17, died at the Hospital, Saturday night, from infection of the foot, resulting from stepping on a small sharp bone of some kind. During one of the hot evenings, Sept. 15, she stepped from the porch out into the yard, bare foot. She happened to step on a small sharp bone which stuck into the heel. It was not very painful and she gave the incident little attention at first, removed the little bone and giving simple local treatment. Later, tetanus, or lock-jaw, developed. And in spite of all that could be done, she grew steadily worse, and passed awaySaturdaynight. Funeral services were held at the Funeral Home Sundayafternoon. Burial at Moriah. She leaves behind to mourn her going away four brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Herman Adams, of Pulask, Mrs. L. A. Chapman of Petersburg, and Johnnie, Emmett, James and Cornis Lovett, all of Pulaski.

Raymond Martin, son of Luther Martin, died at the Pulaski hospital Monday morning at 12:25 as the result of an automobile accident which occurred Sunday evening about 6:30 a few miles north of town on the Bee Line Highway. The automobile in which young Martin and his father were driving turned over several times when the front wheels became entangled in a piece of wire fencing which lay in the road and the boy sustained internal injuries. He was rushed to the Pulaski hospital where an examination showed a lung had been punctured in addition to other injuries. Funeral and burial took place at Mount Moriah Monday.

Funeral services for Thomas May, 46, native Giles Countian, were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Mt. Moriah Church, conducted by Rev. Mack Pinkelton, Baptist minister, assisted by T. D. Anderson. Burial took place in the church cemetery. Mr. May was found dead in his apartment in Detroit, Mich., where he had been making his home since he was eighteen years of age. During his entire twenty-eight years’ residence there he had been employed by the City of Detroit. Mr. May, son of Vince F. May and Zada Stafford May, attended the public schools of Ashland City, Tenn., and Massey Military School in Pulaski. He was twice married, his second wife having died in April of this year. Mr. May is survived by his parents ofBodenham; and one sister, Mrs. W. C. Sawyers, McBurg; and one brother, Harvey May, Elkton.
