Mr. Richard Mack Holley passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at NHC of Pulaski. He was retired from the Giles County Highway Department and 79 years old. Visitation will be 4 until 7 o’clock Friday, November 25, 2011, at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1 o’clock Saturday, November 26, 2011, in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. He was preceded in death byhis parents William Leonard and Grace Englett Holley along with his brother William Junior Holley. He is survived by his sister Carol (Cookie) Roberts and husband Wilson of Pulaski. Nieces, Tana Harris of Pulaski, Christie Horn of Athens, and Misty Mitchell of Elkton. Nephews Rickey Holley of Elkton and Mike Holley of Murfreesboro, Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Richard Mack Holley.

Mr. William L. Holley, 83, of Pulaski, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1993, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 19, at Bennett-May Chapel with the Rev. Gary Kelley officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. A native of Giles County, Mr. Holley was the son of the late Clarence and Lillie Butler Holley. He was a retired truck driver and member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Grace Englett Holley of Columbia; one daughter, Helen Carol Rogers of Pulaski; one son, Richard Mack Holley of Pulaski; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sallie Lanier and Kate Harwell, both of Pulaski.

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Katherine Estes Holt, 58, who died at 10:25 o'clock on Sunday morning, January 22, at the home at Wales, after an extended illness, were held at one o'clock Monday afternoon at the Church of Christ near Wales. Elder A. C. Dreaden conducted the services and burial took place in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Daughter of the late Jack Estes and Alice Parker Estes, she was a lifelong resident of Giles County and a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Holt is survived by her husband, Tom A. Holt; two sons, Gentry L. Holt, Wales, and Thomas A. Holt, Jr., Detroit, Mich.; six grandchildren; and two brothers, Guy Estes and Tommy Estes, both of Campbell Station.

Funeral services for Tom Arthur Holt, 72, retired employee of International Minerals and Chemical Corporation, Wales were held at one o’clock on Tuesdayafternoon at Pulaski Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Pink Griggs and the Rev. Mack Pinkelton, Baptist ministes. Burial took place in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Mr. Holt died unexpectedly at 10 o’clock Sunday morning, October 29, at the home of a friend on Block Street in Pulaski. Born April 17, 1889, in Giles County, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Holt and Lucinda Estes Holt. His wife, Mrs. Annie Catherine Chapman Holt, died a number of years ago. Mr. Holt is survived by two sons, Gentry Holt, Columbia, and Thomas Holt, Valley Park, Mo.; and a number of grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Donie Rich, died August 17, this year. Pulaski Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

James Horne was born in Orange County, N. C. , Jan. 4, 1813, came with his parents to Tennessee when only three years old; was reared near Campbellsville, Giles County; served in the Florida War; married Sarah A. Baker of Giles August 22, 1837; was left a widower with three sons and two daughters June 12, 1848; married Susan Barnes ofGiles, Jan. 17, 1858; died of rheumatism April 5, 1886, at his home near Bodenham, Giles County, Tenn., aged 72 years, ten months and 1 day; left a son and daughter by his first marriage, four sons and four daughters by his second marriage, his second companion, a widowed sister, many

relatives and friends to mourn their loss. His funeral sermon was preached April 6, from Num: 23:10. His remains await the first resurrection in the cemetery at old Mt. Moriah.

Ms. Beverly Ann Miles Hughey, 47, of Pulaski died July 31, 2005, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was born Sept. 12, 1957, in Davidson Countyand attended Overton High School in Nashville. Funeral services were held Aug. 3 at First Baptist Church, Pulaski, with the Rev. Doug Plumlee officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Carr and Erwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assocation. The family would like to thank Dr. Vito Rocco and staff, Dr. Newton Allen, Dr. Michael Cononico and the nursing staff of St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services for Jesse B. Hutton, 81, farmer of the county, who died Tuesday afternoon, will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at Bennett-May Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, west of Pulaski. He died at 4:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at Giles County Hospital following a paralytic stroke sustained a few days earlier. Born in Giles County on May 11, 1871, he was the son of the late Jim Hutton and Martha Mitchell Hutton. His wife, Mrs. Ellie Woodward Hutton, died several years ago. Mr. Hutton is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Leonard Goats, Mrs. William Burks, and Mrs. John Ella Hazelwood; one son, John H. Hutton; and a number of grandchildren; all of Giles County.

A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late John H. and Martha Sneed Johnson. He was a retired handle mill worker. Survivors include two sons, W. Murray Johnson, Orlando, Fla., and Robert L. Johnson, Winter Garden, Fla.; six daughters, Mrs. Katherine Cole, Mrs.

Jewell Sweeney, Mrs. Martha Beaver, all of Pulaski, Mrs. Myrtle Young, Murfreesboro, Mrs. Edith Hanna, Maystown, Illinois, Mrs. Dorothy Cagle, Binger, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Lou Durham, Mrs. Ethel Myers, both of Pulaski, and Mrs. Lela Ray, Memphis; two brothers, John Johnson, Prospect, Robert Johnson, Pima, Arizona; thirty-seven grandchildren and forty-one great grandchildren.

Funeral services for William Kieffer Johnson, 61, a farmer of Route 2, Pulaski, who died Wednesday, September 9 at his residence, were conducted Friday at 2:00 p. m. at Bennett-May Chapel with interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. The Rev. James Nave and Church of Christ minister Andy Brown were the officiants. A native of Giles County, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Frank and Mary Felker Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ernestine Christopher Johnson; a son, William Johnson, Pulaski; a brother, Rivers Johnson, Huntsville, Ala. and three grandchildren.
