Position Title: Maxson Center Office Assistant

Provides general office support for the Maxson Center Office. Performs light clerical and administrative duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answers incoming telephone calls, greets all visitors and responds to inquiries in a courteous manner when the Asst. Director of Programs is not in the office.
Performs general typing of correspondence using computerized software, filing, as well as update calendar of events.
Issues and monitors the use of banner making materials to authorized groups.
Tracks computer, printer, and banner material usage. Orders office supplies and monitors club and organizational usage of such.
Maintains organizational computerized databases. Records attendance in the Maxson Center by clubs and organizations.
6. Makes periodical contact with organization representatives to disseminate information.
7. Assists in the development and distribution of a periodic newsletter.
8. Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
9. Receives requests for computer service and records such in the help-desk database.
10. Monitors clubs and organizations for adherence to Maxson Center regulations.
Performs other duties as determined by the Assistant Director of Programs.
Education and Experience
Minimum or no previous job- related experience required. Current student at CSU, Long Beach with a 2.0 grade point average.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of general office methods, duties, and protocol.
Window-based computer skills.
Ability to work with varied cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
Enrollment in six or more units at CSULB. (see above)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
