GERM PRE WW2 1929 DATED "ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT" (IM WESTEN NICHTS NEUES) BY ERICH MARIA REMARQUE. German language version. Now a modern classic of anti-war literature, it was during the Nazi rule a banned publication. It was one of the many books targeted by the Nazis as being defeatist and "un-German like" in content. This version was burned on mass along with 10,000's of other banned books during the early Nazi rule. Original cloth bound hardcover is in reasonably good condition with some age related yellowing and soiling to the material (especially around the edges of the cover). Inside the cover has come away from the very first and last page. The book still appears to be in solid condition however. Age related yellowing to the inner pages as to be expected with a book that is 80 plus years old.
