There are totals and imclude ribs on both sides. Orcinus orca : Based on J. From both sides, 14 ribs have two heads and 8 have 1. Pliopontos littoralis 953 : Ambiguity. There are 10 double headed ribs and 8 single headed ribs. Divided by 2 for each side, this means 5 vertebrae with 2 articulations and 4 with one. However, there are between 12 and 14 thoracics.
