Hulda was a great grandaughter of Henry Vanderburgh. Hulda's grandaughter, Zelma B. (Ramey) Steigerwalt, 1907-1982,

[Note: The 1850 census and subsequent census records, plus George's death certificate do not confirm the 1834 year of birth. The 1850 census gives his age as 14 (1836); 1860 shows age 22 (1838); 1880 shows age 39 4/12 (Feb 1841); 1900 gives the birth date as Sep 1848; and the 1909 death certificate gives age 61 (1848). The reason for the age discrepancies is not known. However, the old document in the NY State Archives has consistently been confirmed accurate for other children of Lewis Vanderburgh. Therefore, the 1834 birth date is probably correct.]
