VAM/

WFP

Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) functions in the design and management of WFP's emergency and development activities. At WFP's headquarters in Rome, the VAM Unit is an office within the Operations Department. Its main role is to provide strategic and technical support to VAM Program Advisors and Officers, as well as for VAM Focal Points in the field. Each of WFP's seven bureaus has a Regional Program Advisor who is specialized in VAM skills. There are approximately 14 VAM Officers in WFP Country Offices. Many other Country Offices without a full-time VAM Officer nominate a member of staff or national consultant to act as a VAM focal point. These VAM personnel conduct various vulnerability analysis and mapping activities to support WFP programming.
