Ib tardini, Producer

Ib Tardini has been working in film, television and much else besides for more than thirty years; he is an institution in the Danish cinema industry. He has been involved in over 150 fiction films and he has produced television series, short fiction films and commercials. Ib Tardini has had the pleasure of working with instructors including Bille August, Nils Malmros, Jørgen Leth, Henning Carlsen, Lars von Trier, Susanne Bier, Lone Scherfig and Thomas Vinterberg.
In 1984-85 he helped to start the first television station to break the Danmarks Radio monopoly, but he returned to the film industry and produced films including ITALIENSK FOR BEGYNDERE [ITALIAN FOR BEGINNERS], Lone Scherfig i 2001 ("Silver Berlin Bear winner" Berlin), Annette K. Olesen’s feature debut SMÅ ULYKKER [MINOR MISHAPS] i 2002 ("Best European Feature Film" Berlin International Film) og Pia Bovin’s feature debut KALD MIG BARE AKSEL i 2003 [JUST CALL ME AKSEL] ("The International Berlin Grand Prix").
Ib Tardini has worked closely with Per Fly and been involved in his trilogy on the Danish working, middle and upper classes. BÆNKEN [THE BENCH] (2000) was a huge success abroad and was followed by an even breater one, ARVEN [the INHERITANCE]; awards for ARVEN include Best Screenplay at the San Sebastian Film Festival. The trilogy was completed with yet another success, DRABET [MANSLAUGHTER] (2005).
Since Annette K. Olesen’s debut Ib Tardini and Annette K. Olesen have made FORBRYDELSER [IN YOUR HANDS ]  (2004) and 1:1 (2006) together; the latter won three awards at the Lübeck Film Festival, the first hat trick in the history of the festival.
Ib Tardini produced the highly-praised television series FORESTILLINGER [PERFORMANCES] (2007)  first shown on Danmarks Radio DR1 in March/April 2007. Sonja Richter, who plays Tanja, won the Monte Carlos TV festival Golden Nymph for ’Outstanding Actress in a TV-Series’.
In the last few years Ib Tardini has also helped to develop new talent in the film industry; he has produced the following short fiction films as a result: : Julie Bille’s HUNDEØJNE (2006), Manyar I Parwani’s film ”I MIN VERDEN (2006) og IBRAHIM (2007) and  also 45 CM (2007) by Charlotte Sieling and Annette K. Olesen.
Ib Tardini is currently developing new projects with Annette K. Olesen and Per Fly, and bringing on new talent: this work includes Manyar I Parwani’s next feature film: When Heaven Falls .
