Lot includes a large German Army sports singlet insignia, a Panzer ORs breast eagle, Army rank badges for Obershutze, Obergefreiter, Leutnant of Engineers, Army Medical NCOs board, 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class, SA Sports badge, Army alum cap Eagle, cockade and wreath, small early political cap Eagle, large gilt political button, Forestry Officials collar tab, another cockade, Imperial button and 3 rather scarce items of the Railways Protection Police. These being an Officers Collar tab, NCOs shoulder board, & an enlisted mans side cap. The cap is of a Luftwaffe pattern & has grey piping and soutache, bevo cockade & spread wing eagle, maker marked & size 57. A VERY SCARCE piece of Third Reich headgear. Also included is a copy of Aggs diary, written in his last few days at Stalag IVB. Also a typed translation of this. The diary is an interesting read and mentions picking up some souvenirs including the Iron Cross. This is a rare chance to obtain a lot of German items souvenired by an Australian serviceman in Europe. Sold to us directly from the family. Grade II-. $1100 3399 GERM WW2 Luftwaffe Bombers Flight clasp in gold. Early quality made example. No maker to reverse. Grade II- $1250 3400 GERM WW2 LUFTWAFFE LONG RANGE DAY FIGHTER AND AIR-TO-GROUND SUPPORT SQUADRON CLASP in Gold with flower design pendant, attributed to Knights Cross recipient Feldwebel Klaus Riebicke. Born in Berlin on the 20/05/1922, had a total of 592 missions as an assault pilot in the east. Died on the 06/06/1944 in an attack on the Tsalesetsyki railroad staion south of Lemberg, which was defended by sixteen flak batteries, probably received a direct flak hit. Posthumously awarded the knight's cross on the 06/10/1944. C/W a letter (German text) from the recipient's brother, dated 1995, stating the clasp belonged to his brother, also attached are three coloured photographs of the clasp each one signed by his brother Jurgen Riebicke.
