Award-winning singer-songwriter Michael Bolton will perform at the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28. Tickets range from $25 to $75.
Bolton’s musical career has spanned more than three decades, from his early days as the lead singer of a heavy metal band to a successful solo act with multiple chart-topping hits, including “That’s What Love is All About,” “Soul Provider,” and “Love is a Wonderful Thing.”
Born in Connecticut in 1953, Bolton released his first album in 1975 under his real name, Michael Bolotin. The former heavy metal singer emerged in the mid-1980s as one of music’s leading soft rock balladeers.
It was Bolton’s 1989 release, “Soul Provider,” that shot the singer to superstardom. The Top Ten album sold 4 million copies and spawned five Top 40 singles, including Bolton’s number one version of “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You.” The smash hit earned Bolton a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His follow-up album, “Time, Love & Tenderness,” was even more successful, hitting No.1 and selling 6 million copies.
To date, Bolton has sold more than 53 million albums and singles worldwide.
At the heart of it all, Bolton is a diverse and prolific songwriter. His songs have been recorded and performed by more than 100 artists, ranging from country star Wynona Judd to hip hop artist Kanye West.
The multi-talented Bolton is currently in the studio working on his next album which is scheduled to be released later this year.
