MP.17 ] parm__dp_disconnect_mgmnt_timer_duration Disconnect Management Time

This parameter specifies the duration of the disconnect management timer. Under appropriately selected modes, this timer specifies the duration that this process will attempt to deliver the data pending within its buffers prior to discarding data and disconnecting the connection.

Range:

0 to 65535 units of 1(S)

Default:

20 = 20 seconds

Derivation:

parm__dp_disconnect_mgmnt_timer_duration = Disconnect_Management_Time

MP.18 ] parm__digital_data_modes Digital Data Mode

This parameter is used to enable or disable particular digital data modes by specifying the particular digital data mode to use.

- The reset default of 0x0000 is shown.

- "1" = enabled, "0" = disabled.

- Enable only 1 digital mode at a time.
Bit Field Definitions:
Bit 2 "HDLC 7-bit" = When set, enables 7-bit HDLC digital mode.
Bit 1 "HDLC 8-bit" = When set, enables 8-bit HDLC digital mode.
Bit 0 "V.110" = When set, enables V.110 digital mode.
Additional Notes:
- When a digital mode is enabled, the u/A-law and sample rate conversion modules are [ automatically disabled / ignored/bypassed ].
[ ignored ]. That is, EVENT__RUN_U_LAW and EVENT__RUN_A_LAW have no effect for a digital mode connection. However, these are "global" events and once posted, do not need to be re-posted after an digital section in order to enable companding for a subsequent non digital mode section. Companding is "remembered" after a digital mode call.
[ disabled ]. That is, after any digital mode section, EVENT__RUN_U_LAW and EVENT__RUN_A_LAW must be posted to enable companding for subsequent data modulation / non digital mode sections. Even if the events have been previously posted. Companding is "forgotten" after a digital mode call.
Programming:
This parameter should be written either before the Modem is started or while the Modem is in the idle/ready state. Note that during the negotiation and connection, the Modem can change this parameter value. Therefore, this parameter should be written before each new connection.
Caution: The PPP module must be disabled when running in a digital mode. This means that all 3 of the PPP enabling parameters must be written to disable the PPP module. These parameters and disable settings are the following:
parm__ppp_rx_mode_en = 0x0000

parm__ppp_tx_mode_en = 0x0000

parm__fp_ppp_detect_en = 0x0000

MP.19 ] parm__pump_data_modes Modulation Mode

This parameter is used to enable or disable particular data modulations.

This parameter specifies the particular modulation family or families to use. Specifying more than one family may require the use of auto-mode ( PN-2330 ). If the required auto-mode is not available or otherwise enabled, the highest throughput modulation will be used.
When more than one PCM modulation is available, the enablement of the particular PCM modulations is controlled by another mechanism.

Bit Field Definitions:
Bit 15 "auto mode" = When set, enables auto-mode. Auto-mode allows the Modem to detect and connect with any of the enabled data modulations. Without auto-mode enabled, the Modem will attempt a connection only with the highest rate data modulation enabled. The other enabled data modulations will be not negotiated and thus will not be established. For server modem operation, auto-mode must be enabled.
Bit 14 "V.8" = When set, enables V.8. If any of the enabled modulations require V.8 for their startup procedure, ( these modulations are V.90, K56 Flex & V.34 ), then V.8 must be explicitly enabled by setting this bit.
Bit 13 "V.8bis" = When set, enables V.8bis AND K56 Flex. If any of the enabled modulations require V.8bis for their startup procedure, ( these modulations are K56 Flex ), then V.8bis must be explicitly enabled by setting this bit.
Bit 10 "V.34" = When set, enables V.34. If any of the enabled V.PCM modulations require V.34, ( these modulations are K56 Flex ), then V.34 must be explicitly enabled by setting this bit.
Bit 0 "Bell" = When set, this selects Bell, as opposed to CCITT, modulation procedures when the selection of such procedures is the responsibility of this device. This parameter selects between V.21 / Bell 103 for 300(bps) operation and between V.22 / Bell 212 for 1200(bps) operation. Auto-mode does not use this parameter; rather it determines Bell or CCITT operation by detecting particular tones generated by the remote device.
Additional Notes:
- Bit 13 "V.8bis" implicitly enables K56 Flex. K56 Flex is the only data modulation that requires V.8bis, therefore, enabling V.8bis implicitly enables K56 Flex.
- If an enabled V.PCM modulation requires V.34, ( these V.PCM modulations are K56 Flex ), then V.34 must be explicitly enabled by setting its respective bit.
- If an enabled modulation requires V.8 or V.8bis, ( these modulations are V.90, K56 Flex & V.34 for V.8 and K56 Flex for V.8bis ), then V.8 and/or V.8bis must be explicitly enabled by setting their respective bits.
Initial Setting:
= 0xEE3C
