XXVI International Finno-Ugric Students’ Conference IFUSCO -2010

The decision made at the closing plenar session of the XXV International Finno-Ugric Students’ Conference IFUSCO -2009 in Petrozavodsk (Karelia) was to hold the next XXVI IFUSCO -2010 in Kudymkar, Perm krai.

The XXVI International Finno-Ugric Students’ Conference IFUSCO -2010 will take place on 14-16 May, 2010.

The aim of the conference is to enable and strengthen scientific activity in educational establishments of different levels in Finno-Ugric countries and regions of the Russian Federation, and to engage the members of Finno-Ugric youth organizations and students in public activity participations.

The holders of the conference: the Government of Perm krai, Komi-Permyak okrug Office, Udmurt State University - Kudymkar branch, Youth Association of Finno-Ugric Peoples (MAFUN), Youth Association of Finno-Ugric Peoples of the Russian Federation (MAFUN RF).

We invite students and postgraduates interested in Finno-Ugric studies. The program of the forum includes plenary sessions, the work of section groups, round table discussions, master classes, project presentations, social arrangements.



Participants quota:

  • Hungary, Finland, Estonia – up to 10 persons per country;

  • The Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, France, Germany – up to 3 persons per country;

  • Komi Republic, Karelia, Mari-El, Mordovia, Udmurtia, Perm krai – up to 10 persons per region;

  • Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Leningrad Region, Tver Region, Murmansk Region, Moskow, St. Petersburg, etc – up to 5 persons per region.

Working languages: Russian, Finnish, English, and native Finno-Ugric languages.

Expected sections:

  1. Finno-Ugric linguistics: its past, present and future.

  2. Finno-Ugric world: Traditions. Folklore. Ethnography. History.

  3. Finno-Ugric peoples: Sociology. Law.

  4. Finno-Ugric study of literature.

  5. Contemporary educational technologies.

  6. Finno-Ugric youth initiatives (presentations).

  7. Social and economic environment of Finno-Ugric peoples development: trends and reality.

The arrival is 13 May, 2010, evening, or 14 May, morning. The departure is 16 May 2010, evening or 17 May, morning.

Participants without international passports are to enclose a copy of their national passports.

Please take care of receiving Russian visa in advance (for foreign participants).

The book of abstracts will be published before the conference. Application forms and abstracts are accepted till 15 March (dead-line) by e-mail only: IFUSCO-2010@mail.ru with a note IFUSCO-2010.

The publication of abstracts received after the deadline is not guaranteed.

Requirements to the abstracts:

Up to 1.5 pages (no more 2000 characters), text editor Microsoft Word, font Times New Roman, font size 14, at one-and-a-half space. Margins: top – 20 mm, lower – 20 mm, left – 30 mm, right – 15 mm. Author’s name is in the 1st line, right, in lower case character, in bold type; then goes an educational facility’s title, a city (in brackets). The title of an article is in the centre, in lower case character, in bold type.



Attention! Participants reporting in their native languages (Finno-Ugric) are to have abstracts in Russian with a short summary in English; if a presentation is made in Russian, a short summary in English is also to be made.

The contribution for participation in the conference of 1,500 rubles can be paid on the first day of the conference, 14 May 2010. The contributions will cover the book of abstracts publication, the residence and meals.

Travel costs are paid by the participants.

The decision about holding the next XXVII International Finno-Ugric Students Conference IFUSCO - 2011 will be made at the closing plenary session in Kudymkar, on 16 May, after considering all projects and reports. Countries and regions interested in holding the next XXVII IFUSCO - 2011 on their territory are to present projects in either computer presentations or traditional reports.
