Lyon College invites applications for the position of vice president for business and finance. The vice president reports to the president of the College and serves as chief financial officer with responsibility for budgeting, audit, risk management, the business office, physical plant, information services, human resources, campus safety, and auxiliary services. The vice president also serves on the cabinet and provides staff support to several committees and subcommittees of the Board of Trustees.
Lyon College is a USN&WR “top tier” national liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). It is located in the foothills of the Ozarks in Batesville, Arkansas, a safe and convenient town of 10,000 that serves as commercial, medical, social, and governmental hub for an eight-county area. The College enrolls approximately 600 students from twenty-one states and seventeen foreign countries on its picturesque 136-acre campus.
Lyon seeks candidates who are committed to the college’s liberal arts mission and who can lead and manage in a collegial fashion to achieve institutional objectives. The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in a college business and financial management setting or the equivalent, as well as strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. An appropriate bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA (or the equivalent) and CPA are preferable. Prior experience overseeing construction projects is also desired.
