Chairman Linda Valentine opened this Town of Salem Special Electors Meeting at 7:47 p.m. with the following present: Linda Valentine, Dennis Faber, Jo Weidman, Joe Meier, Mike Murdock, Chris Lamb, Mike Slover, Eileene Anderson, Attorney Scholze, Crysti Neuman, Jack Rowland, Patrick Casey, Dave Shortess, and Cindi Ernest.

1. MOTION BY Elector Gail Peckler-Dziki, second by Elector Diann Tesar to approve the total 2010 Highway Expenditures pursuant to Section 82.03(3) of Wisconsin Statutes.

Clerk’s Note To Clarify Vote Discrepancy: The sign in sheets given to the clerk showed 110 electors’ signed in. The total vote showed 111 elector’s had voted. Chairman Valentine asked for a show of hands to accept the vote. The show of hands showed the majority in favor of accepting the vote.
After the meeting, it was determined that an additional sign in sheet was still being used in the lobby to sign people in and was not counted. The total number of elector’s signed in to vote was 116. In addition, there were 14 non-electors signed into this meeting.
2. MOTION BY Elector Mike Culat, second by Elector Cindi Ernest to approve the 2009 Town tax levy to be paid in 2010 pursuant to Section 60.10 (1) (a) of Wisconsin Statutes in the amount of $3,073,800.

3. A Resolution to adopt the budget for the Town of Salem, for the year 2010, will be presented at a regular board meeting for board decision and not at this elector’s meeting.
As an advisory vote only, Chairman Valentine questioned if the elector’s were in favor of the budget as presented.
