Request for Expressions-of-Interest (EOI)
Retrieval and Transportation of Bus Revenue

and

Currency Retrieval and Purchase

Introduction:
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) seeks to identify qualified firms interested in (1) the Daily Retrieval and Transportation of its Bus Revenues from various Metrobus Garages to WMATA’s Central Counting Facility, (2) the Transportation of its Daily Metrobus and Metrorail Cash Deposits from Central Counting Facility to WMATA’s Depository Bank, and (3) for the Purchase, by Weight, of WMATA’s ‘Uncounted’ Metrobus $1 Paper Currency. Note - This is a market survey and not a competitive solicitation.
Objectives:
There are three primary program objectives:


  • To engage a contractor to retrieve Bus Revenues from a series of twelve (12) Bus Garages, and transport those Revenues via Armored Vehicle to the WMATA’s Central Counting Facility;







  • To engage a contractor to Purchase, by Weight, WMATA’s ‘Uncounted’ Metrobus $1 Paper Currency.

A prospective contractor may submit an Expression-of-Interest for Items One and Two, Item Three, or all Three Items.


Background:
Currently, WMATA performs the above identified activities with its own equipment and workforce. WMATA is interested in determining the efficiency, effectiveness, and cost factors associated with the out-sourcing of these functions.
General Scope Of Work:
Following are scopes of services associated with the three categories above identified – specifically, (1) the Daily Retrieval and Transportation of its Bus Revenues from various Metrobus Garages to WMATA’s Central Counting Facility, (2) the Transportation of its Daily Metrobus and Metrorail Cash Deposits from Central Counting Facility to WMATA’s Depository Bank, and (3) for the Purchase, by Weight, of WMATA’s ‘Uncounted’ Metrobus $1 Paper Currency.
Structure of EOI:
Expressions-of-Interest shall be no more than twenty (20) pages in addition to the standard informational or promotional literature of the submitting entity. The submission must be clearly marked as “CO6034, EOI – Retrieval and Transportation of Bus Revenue Currency Retrieval and Purchase
Firms are strongly encouraged to provide additional comments and suggestions relative to the project scope, methodologies and technologies, and costs.
The EOI should contain a profile of the firms’ experience in successfully providing this type of service or similar services to large private sector, governmental or other organizations. Please include relevant points-of-contact including telephone numbers, and, if available, email addresses.
Additionally, the EOI should contain the entity’s anticipated method of the implementation of all activities necessary for the successful operation of the transporting revenue and purchase of $1 paper currency.
Finally, each EOI should contain an estimate of the costs associated with each activity.
