Mourne Mountain Adventure (MMA)
Conditions of Entry
Eligibility

Location
Teams are selected from across the island of Ireland.

Age
All those taking part in the MMA should be between the ages of 12 and 18 on the date of the event.

Composition of Teams
Teams will consist of six people in any male/female combination.

The Rules
The Group Leader, team leaders and team members agree to support the Charter and ethos of the MMA and to abide by the rules. The MMA is not a competition and the rules are in place to ensure safety of the groups, individuals and the smooth running of the event.

Photography
Photographers will record images of the MMA. Group Leaders are to ensure parents have given their approval for suitable and appropriate photographs to be taken and published.

Registrations
All registrations should be forwarded to Newry, Mourne & Down District Council no later then by 29 Jan 16.
Acceptance
Confirmation of team acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent to all Group Leaders by 19 Feb 16.
Selection
-
Selection Process. There are a total of 70 team places across both phases of the MMA. 50 of these will be allocated as 10 each to the sponsoring organisations listed below. The remaining 20 places will be issued on a first come first served basis. Teams are allocated to sponsors as follows:
(1) NIFRS 10 Teams
(2) PSNI 10 Teams
(3) Newry, Mourne & Down DC 10 Teams
(4) Reserve Forces and Cadets Association NI 10 Teams
(5) International Fund for Ireland 10 Teams
20 team places may be applied for by other groups.
MMA Briefing

Participation
Each sponsor is responsible for briefing the Group leaders on the MMA.

Content
The briefing must cover policy and rule changes, current issues, environmental education, safety and procedures.

Updates
Information will be distributed using the Newry, Mourne and Down website / Latest News (www.newrymournedown.org) or Mourne Mountain Adventure Facebook site. Information will also be emailed to Group Leaders by lead partners.
