Dec. 13, 1760--173 lbs. 12 shillings 2 pence. (Different dates are given for this transaction. Apparently an earlier date was for signing and later date was for recording.) This 2nd record would have been for Daniel, eldest son, as Daniel the immigrant died in 1755.
The translation of Gaelic into English is not an exact science. Here are some possible spellings of the name McPherson:
McPherson, MacPherson, Mackfarson, Mackfersone, McFersane, Mackfarsane, McFarsoun, Magfarsin, a'Phearsain, McPhairsoun.

Daniel McPherson, according to family tradition, was born about 1682 near Inverness, Scotland, and was kidnapped while tending to sheep on his father's farm when he was about 14 years of age. He was brought to the Wilmington, Delaware, area and sold as an indentured servant to a Quaker master. While he did not like his master, he did sympathize with Quaker beliefs. He was described as being about six feet tall with a strong constitution. After his term of indenture ended, he worked as a laborer until he earned enough money to buy a farm.

On October 10, 1706, Daniel McPherson of Birmingham bought 300 acres in Kennett Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, from John Guest for 60 lbs; the land lay partly in White Clay Creek Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware. About 1712 he married Ruth Shires, who had recently moved to America from Great Britain with a married sister. On February 21, 1734, he and Thomas Campbell bought 385 acres on White Clay Creek in Delaware from the estate of John Henzy, and on May 16, 1738, Campbell sold him his share for 260 lbs. In June, 1751, following a lawsuit concerning title to Henzy's land, Daniel sold his share to Thomas Wilson for 800 lbs. On May 12, 1740, James Hutchinson gave McPherson a lot on Front and Water Streets and Christiana Creek to hold in trust for a debt to John Richardson. On May 20, 1740, Daniel bought another lot in Wilmington from Thomas Milner for 45 lbs.; on May 16, 1744, he bought a lot on Third Street in Wilmington from the trustees of the Swedish Congregation.
After his wife Ruth died about 1747, Daniel McPherson sold his land in Kennett to James House and moved to Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, with his son Daniel. He made his will on February 24, 1755, dividing his property among his children; the estate was probated on August 5, 1755, and the executors sold his lots in Wilmington.
