    Brief Biography of Professor Maciej Radosz

Prof. Radosz joined UW in 2000 as Professor and Department Head. He came from Louisiana State University where he was a Distinguished Professor and Gautreaux Endowed Chair in Chemical Engineering and Adjunct Professor of Chemistry. Following his PhD from Poland and two postdoc assignments in Norway and at Purdue University, Prof. Radosz spent 15 years with Exxon in New Jersey. While there, he also served as Visiting Professor at Rutgers University and a member of graduate committees at Princeton, Lehigh, Cornell and Johns Hopkins Universities. Prof. Radosz is a Fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He served as an Editor of Fluid Phase Equilibria, a member of four editorial boards, and Distinguished Lecturer for the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Prof. Radosz is co-author of 2 books and over 200 peer-reviewed publications that generated over 4,300 citations

Born in Beijing in 1965, graduated with a BE in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University (1987), then completed his PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering at Canterbury University in New Zealand (1991). After working for Fonterra for 2.5 years, he took up a lectureship at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Over his 16-year academic career, he has published over 300 refereed journal articles and 180 conference papers, 3 books, 13 book chapters, and over 50 reports on industrial consulting projects in Food and Biological Engineering, and Chemical Engineering areas. He was made a Personal Chair of Chemical Engineering in 2001 at Auckland. In 2006, he was appointed to the Chair of Biotechnology and Professor of Chemical Engineering at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He has received many awards of distinction including Shedden Uhde Medal (1999), ER Cooper Medal (2002), Hood Fellow (2005), Nan-Qiang Scholar Xiamen University (2004), Inaugural Fonterra Award (2006), ADC Award of Excellence in Drying Research (2007), AFISA Award for Excellence in Drying R & D (2008), Monash Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research (2009). He is the Deputy Head of Chemical Engineering and Associate Dean International for the Faculty of Engineering at Monash (2007-2009). He has delivered keynote presentations in a number of international conferences. He was a con-current Chair of Engineering at China Agricultural University (2005-2008). He is a Fellow of Royal Society of NZ and a Fellow of Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, and is also a Fellow of IChemE. He is the Thousand Talent Professor and Head of Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Xiamen University (2010-).
