T he FBA Paralegal Section is pleased to announce that our 2008-2009 Paralegal Certification Scholarship recipient, Lori Jones, has attained her paralegal certification goal. Lori is employed with Fairfax County’s Department of Family Services in the Adult Protective Services Division.
Lori has successfully completed the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA)’s Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE), and is now among 18 paralegals in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and more than 700 paralegals nationwide, entitled to use the professional designation “RP” or Registered Paralegal. Lori’s dedication to the Section is immensely appreciated. She headed up our record-setting annual food drive last year for benefit of the Capital Area Food Bank. We netted 1410 pounds of food (up from 782 pounds the prior year) and $280.00 in monetary donations (up from $200.00 the prior year). We are delighted that Lori has volunteered to administer our food drive again this year. Finally, Lori was elected to our Executive Committee in June and is doing an exceptional job serving as our Secretary for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. Education and certification are of significant importance to our Section and the profession as a whole. We are grateful to have established an annual scholarship offering which began last year. This year’s scholarship was funded with the Section’s residual budget. Congratulations Lori! Thank you for helping blaze the trail for your fellow Section members. |
