TDECU Celebrates Major Branch Expansion at Houston’s

Marathon Oil Tower
(HOUSTON, TX) — TDECU marked the major expansion of its branch located inside the Marathon Oil Tower in Houston by hosting a celebration for members and the community. The well-attended event included several speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, snacks and door prizes.
Marathon Oil Tower is a 41-story office building located at 5555 San Felipe in Houston’s Galleria area. In 2012, the building underwent a $5 million upgrade. A building tenant since 1991, TDECU invested in the branch by expanding its footprint from 2,281 square-feet to 9,491 square-feet. The branch was relocated to the building’s first floor with five ATMs in high-traffic areas of the one million-square-foot building. The new location offers TDECU’s full suite of service and products including space for its wealth management, insurance and real estate operations. The team members began welcoming members to the new facility in mid-November.
After a moving invocation from TDECU member, Marathon employee and Associate Minister, Torrey Walker of March of Faith Community Church, TDECU President and CEO Stephanie Sherrodd led the ribbon-cutting festivities. She was joined by TDECU Board Chairman Marcus Stephenson, TDECU Regional Vice President Steve Boylan and Marathon Oil’s Vice President of Public Policy, Eileen M. Campbell. TDECU Marathon Branch Manager Ronnie Cortez took to the podium and was showered with applause. The members showed their appreciation and admiration for Cortez, expressing their excitement about the branch’s makeover and access to expanded TDECU services.
