BRANCH INFORMATION: AUGUST 2008 BRANCH MEETING
It is intended that at each Branch meeting these information notes will be supplied, keeping you informed over the issues that are being addressed by Nottingham CAMRA.
CAMRA LocAle

To coincide with the launch of CAMRA LocAle nationally pubs in the Nottingham area are being provided with new posters and crowns. Locally more pubs are joining the scheme (there are now 85 pubs) confirming that there is a market for locally brewed beers.

NOTTINGHAM BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL

Work on the Festival is well advanced but to ensure the event is successful more volunteers are required.

Staff are needed to help serve beer, cider and wine and also to assist in other areas such as selling glasses; helping on the door, shop etc. All staff gain FREE admission to the Festival (are given a FREE glass) and vouchers for meals and beer depending on the hours they work. Whilst staff are required during the opening hours of the event volunteers to help set up the Festival are also needed on Monday 6th; Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th October.

If you can help or want to know more about the Festival please complete and return the attached form.

This year’s Festival will be the best ever with the splendid grounds of Nottingham Castle being the ideal backdrop for what will be the largest range of cask beers ever presented in Nottingham and possibly the UK. Last year there were in excess of 400 cask beers and that figure will be far exceeded this year

NOTTINGHAM ROBIN HOOD BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL
Indications are that numbers attending the Robin Hood Beer Festival are likely to exceed the original estimates of 10,000. Whilst this is good news, as it will ensure that the Festival becomes a major event in the East Midlands, it does pose further problems with regard to volunteers to help run the Festival.

Staff are needed to help serve beer, cider and wine and also to assist in other areas such as selling glasses; helping on the door, shop etc. All staff gain FREE admission to the Festival and are given a FREE glass plus, depending on the hours they work, vouchers for meals and beer. Whilst staff are required during the opening hours of the event volunteers to help set up the Festival are also needed on Monday 6th; Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th October.
