Air Scout Group



Group Uniform Policy
As a result of differing interpretation of the uniform policy within the sections and outside it was felt correct that the group provide a uniform image throughout taking into consideration the relevant aspects of POR.
No1 Uniform
POR States
Rule 10.5 Beaver Scout Uniform

Items of official uniform:

turquoise crew neck sweatshirt;

Group scarf;

maroon woggle or one of another colour

that identifies the lodge or team.

smart navy blue skirt or navy blue activity trousers
Rule 10.6 Cub Scout Uniform

Items of official uniform:

dark green crew neck sweatshirt;

Group scarf and identifying Six woggle.

smart navy blue skirt or navy blue activity trousers
Rule 10.9 Air Scout Uniform

Items of official uniform:

light blue long sleeve shirt or blouse;

 smart navy blue skirt or smart navy blue trousers

navy blue activity trousers


  • Group scarf and woggle;

leather Scout belt and buckle;

Air Scout beret with cloth badge.


Rule 10.16 Air Scout Network / Adult

Member’s Uniform

a. Items of official uniform:

light blue long sleeve shirt or blouse;

smart navy blue trousers;

smart navy blue skirt;

navy blue activity trousers

Group / Explorer Scout Unit / Scout

Network / Universal / Gilwell / Scout

Active Support scarf (as entitled) or, blue

tie on formal occasions;

Scout belt / Explorer belt and buckle;

Air Scout beret with cloth badge.


Added to this the group / district has taken the decision that Scout activity trousers or a very close replica is also to be worn.


Activity Wear No 2 Uniform
Officially as of 1st Sept 2011 the group has adopted an activity wear option for members.....
Young Members / Section Assistants / Regular Helpers – Blue t-shirt with new group logo printed in yellow.
Leader Team – Blue poloshirt with embroidered new logo in yellow.
As with main uniform neckers and woggles to be worn. Trousers etc have no change.
This activity wear is to be worn in the following circumstances....


  1. With main uniform to provide a warm weather option during section meetings.

  2. At extra-curricular activities / trips with the permission of Section Leader / GSL / Group Executive

  3. During camps

  4. Any other times deemed fit by Section Leader / GSL / Group Exec

In all situations where an opening / closing ceremony is to take place No1 uniform is to be worn at these times.



Footwear
The group respectfully request that dark coloured sensible footwear are worn at section meetings in preference to other types / colours.

Badges
No badges apart from official uniform badges are to be worn on group uniform. No pin badges apart from an official leather one denoting a leaders scouting name provided by the group will be worn on uniform.
Remembrance Poppies will be allowed during the usual period.

Section Meetings
The above is to be adopted during group meetings until activity wear review.
Regular Helpers / Section Assistants (Non Warrant) not wanting to enter uniform are to be required to wear Air Scout Sweatshirt / Activity t-shirt.
Parades
Full uniform is to be adopted for all parades
It has to be noted that poloshirts are optional activity wear and not uniform. The group understands that extremities in weather can affect the wearer but to provide the single smart image it is best to apply this rule.
