The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1 Objectives
The objectives of these Regulations are to amend the Wildlife Regulations 2002—
(a) to remove the prohibition on the keeping and trading of young tortoises and turtles; and
(b) to increase the taxa of wildlife that may be kept by holders of certain wildlife licences; and
(c) to increase the taxa of wildlife that may be kept by members of the general public without needing to obtain a wildlife licence; and
(d) to enable certain taxa of wildlife to be kept under less restrictive wildlife licences; and
(e) to clarify which taxa of Red-tailed Black Cockatoo may be kept by holders of certain wildlife licences.
2 Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 87 of the
Wildlife Act 1975.
3 Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 October 2009.
4 Wildlife that is not self-sufficient
(1) In regulation 12(1)(a)(v) of the Wildlife Regulations 20021, for "egg; or" substitute "egg.".
(2) Regulation 12(1)(b) of the Wildlife Regulations 2002 is revoked.
5 Amendments to Schedule 3
(1) In Schedule 3 to the Wildlife Regulations 2002, under the heading "Birds" omit—
(a) "Stubble Quail Coturnix pectoralis"; and
(b) "Crested Pigeon Ocyphaps lophotes"; and
(c) "Emerald Dove Chalcophaps indica"; and
(d) "Common Phaps chalcoptera";

(e) "Hooded Parrot Psephotus dissimilis"; and
