A chromosome disorder that causes severe learning difficulties. Since the condition was first identified in 1965 to date only about 350 people (mostly children and young adults) have been diagnosed in the UK. This number is increasing due to the improvement and ease of Genetic testing.
ASSERT Trustee's are all relatives of children with Angelman Syndrome. They provide information for doctors to give to families of those diagnosed with this and fund research into the condition.
