Online Nursing Department MSN Scholarship Criteria The University of North Alabama College of Nursing (CON) will award one (1) scholarship to MSN students each Fall and Spring semester. An application must be submitted for the scholarship and a type-written essay must accompany the application. No FAFSA is required. The application will be posted online. The applicant must print the application and must submit the application and essay by mail to the Online Nursing Department, UNA Box 5127, Florence, AL 35632. Applications will be submitted by October 15 for Spring scholarships and by June 15 for Fall scholarships. The amount of the scholarship is $1500.00. A student who has received a scholarship may re-apply for a scholarship during additional semesters. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in the CON full time at the time the scholarship is awarded and must maintain full time enrollment status during that semester. Students must have completed at least 9 hours of required nursing courses in the MSN program before applying for the scholarship. The applicant must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA in the MSN program. A student who has received a scholarship may re-apply for a scholarship during additional semesters. It is important to know that any act of academic dishonesty will void recipient of the scholarship. Please note that the undergraduate GPA may be used for additional information when selecting scholarship recipients, if necessary.
