The navy individual augmentee comat training school (niact) course curriculum purpose

This course provides Combat Training to U.S. Navy Individual Augmentee's (IA's) for students deploying

as IA’s to CENTCOM/HOA AOR. It is intended to train students for Army Combat Support/Combat

Service Support (CS/CSS).

Training consists of:

Pre-certification training will be conducted prior to arrival and if not it will be completed during In-

processing and after duty hours. Training is provided through Navy Knowledge Online (NKO)

Maintain an M16-Series Rifle
Title: Basic Rifle Marksmanship 2
· Disassembly, assembly and a functions check.

· Dry firing with the M15A1 Aiming Card, target box and paddle exercise and coaching. · Safety procedures, dry firing from prone-unsupported at 25-meter scaled silhouette

· Correct malfunctions and practice dime/washer exercise and coaching.

Apply Fundamentals of Marksmanship II using the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST) 2000

In a Weapons Simulator, simulating day; given a M16-series rifle, 1 magazine, and 18 rounds of simulated 5.56mm ammunition, helmet, Gloves and Eye Pro and using the plastic target box paddle template (DVC-T 7-86). Student will execute one time.
Title: Basic Rifle Marksmanship 4 (Live Day Group)

Perform Shot Grouping Exercise (Live Fire)

On a 25-meter range or LOMAH, during daylight hours and a 300-meter M16-series rifle zero target placed on a standard E-silhouette. Student will, demonstrate consistent application of marksmanship fundamentals. From the prone supported position, score 6 of 6 shots (fired in two consecutive 3-round shot-groups), within a 4-cm diameter circle in accordance with FM 2-33.9.

Zero an M16-Series Rifle (Live Fire)

On a 25-meter range or LOMAH during daylight hours the student will adjust their own sights. From the prone supported position, score 5 of 6 shots (fired in two consecutive 3-round shot-groups) within 4-centimeters of the bull’s-eye

Title: Basic Rifle Marksmanship 6 A (Live Day LOMAH)

On a LOMAH range, the student will fire from 3 positions (prone supported, prone unsupported, and kneeling). The student will execute two attempts with gear and one attempt without gear.

Apply Fundamentals of Marksmanship II using a Weapons Simulator. In a Weapons Simulator, simulating night; given a M16-series rifle, 1 magazine, 30 rounds of simulated 5.56mm ammunition, helmet, IBA, Gloves and Eye Pro. The student will execute one attempt with gear from the kneeling position fire 15 rounds at the target, from the prone unsupported position, fire 15 rounds at the target.

Perform Stress Shoot Fire Techniques on a 25-m range with a HMMWV during daylight hours. The student will be afforded the opportunity to practice this course of fire prior to going to the live fire range by using either a demonstration of live fire techniques, 20 rounds of blank ammunition per student, or both

Detect and engage timed targets during practice record fire I with the M16-series rifle From the prone supported position, engage twenty timed target exposures with 20 rounds. From the prone unsupported position, engage ten timed target exposures with 10 rounds. From the kneeling position, engage ten timed target exposures with 10 rounds. Hit a minimum of 23 of 40 exposed targets in accordance with FM 3-22.9.

On a record fire range during daylight hours, from the prone supported position, engage twenty timed target exposures with 20 rounds. From the prone unsupported position, engage ten timed target exposures with 10 rounds. From the kneeling position, engage ten timed target exposures with 10 rounds. Hit a minimum of 23 of 40 exposed targets in accordance with FM 3-22.9

In classroom and field environments perform each of the following:

The weapon must be pointed in a safe direction at all times to prevent any incidents

Perform clearing procedures: remove all ammunition and secure the weapon · Disassemble and clean the weapon: ensure there is no carbon residue in the barrel or on the bolt and that the weapon has a coat of lubricant.

Assemble the weapon and perform a functions check.

Load the weapon (make a Condition 1 weapon) and correct a malfunction.

Perform clearing procedures (make a Condition 4 weapon)

Engage Targets with an M9 Pistol

Complete the Navy Handgun Qualification Course in accordance with OPNAV 3591.1 Series for a Category II Shooter.

Title: Navy Handgun Night Course (SIM)

Engage Targets with an M9 Pistol

Complete the Navy Handgun in accordance with OPNAV 3591.1 Series for a Category II Shooter.

Title: Navy Handgun Night Course (Live Night)

Complete the Navy Handgun Night Course in accordance with OPNAV 3591.1 Series for a Category II Shooter.

Complete the Navy Handgun Practical Weapons Course in accordance with OPNAV 3591.1 Series for a Category II Shooter.

In a field environment during daylight hours; given individual equipment, assigned weapon, and battle buddy; and detainee, disposable restraints, a guard, an interpreter (if available), DA Form 4002 (Evidence/Property Tag), DA Form 4137 (Evidence/Property Custody Document), Department of Defense (DD) Form 2745 (Enemy Prisoner of War [EPW] Capture Tag), and materials to mark and bundle evidence and property.

In a field environment during daylight hours; given individual equipment, assigned weapon, and battle buddy; and DD Form 2745, and enemy prisoners of war (EPWs) with equipment and weapons.

Students will read an Operations order and identify key information and instructions during a Tactical Exercise/Operations in accordance with FM 3-0, FM 7-8 and FM 7-10.

On a heavy weapons range, during daylight hours; Clear the weapon, and correct malfunctions of an M240B Machine Gun, engage targets with an M240B Machine Gun while following all safety requirements

On a heavy weapons range, during daylight hours; Clear the weapon, load the weapon, engage targets in an assigned sector of fire, correct simulated/actual weapons malfunctions and clear the weapon.

On a heavy weapons range, during daylight hours; given a M2 machine guns, 25 rounds (25 day) of live linked .50cal ammunition, helmet, IBA, gloves, Eye Pro and an assigned sector of fire.
