Formatting Shapes

You can enhance the appearance of the shape by changing its fill or by adding effects, for example shadows, reflections, glows, soft edges, bevels or 3-D rotations to it. You can also change the outline or border of the shape.

You can quickly apply the shape fill and effects at once with the Quick Styles. Quick Styles are combinations of different formatting options and are displayed in a thumbnail in the various Quick Style galleries. When you point to a Quick Style thumbnail, you can see how the Quick Style affects your shape (Live Preview).

You can change the attributes of a shape, for example shape fill, shape outline, and shape effects individually, by using these buttons.
