2433 AUST WW1 MILITARY MEDAL (GVR) TO "4379 PTE L.S.DEVILAND. 54/AUST:INF". Pte Luke Deviland enlisted in the AIF 10th August 1915. Operations France and Flanders via M/East including Fromelles from late July 1916 as signaler, 54th BN. Operations Passchendale and later Wounded in Action with War Gas near Villers Bretonneux 17th April 1918. Discharged November 1919. Awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the field vide CG of 14th January 1918. No surviving recommendation. NEF. C/w research notes and the original letter from Base Records Office Melbourne to his mother informing her of the award of the Military Medal. This in an old gilt plaster frame. $3000*

Operations France and Flanders. Sick with cataract, (right eye had been damaged due to an explosion and sight from that eye lost). Disch April 1917. GVF $150

2446 AUST WWI WOUNDED IN ACTION BWM TO "2312 PTE W BELL 56 BN AIF" Previously had served in the Boer War with Methune's Mounted Infantry. Enlisted in the AIF 29 November 1915. Operations France and Flanders near Armentieres and The Somme with the 56th BN. Wounded in action with war gas and shrapnel near Passchendale 16th October 1917.
