INTENDED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of this course the successful student will be able to...


  1. gain a working knowledge of the principles of stage management in the areas of dance, musical theatre, and drama.




  1. analyze and create a prompt book based on the properties and objectives of stage management.




  1. apply basic stage management concepts of theatrical production to auditions, production meetings, rehearsals, performances, and post-production.




  1. experience first-hand the backstage operation of a performance in the area of stage management.




  1. appreciate the relationship of stage management with other areas within the theatre process.


COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND EVALUATION SCHEME:
COURSE GRADE IS BASED PRIMARILY ON THE FOLLOWING:

PRODUCTION CREW WORK & DOCUMENTATION 50%

CLASS DISCUSSIONS,REPORTS,

EXCERCISES, TESTS 30% PROMPT BOOK 20%

PROMPT BOOKS are due one week after close of each show.
