Russell, Margaret
Margaret "Betty" Elizabeth Russell, 80, of Fairgrove, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in her
home. She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Pensacola, Fla. to Carl Hendrick Case and
Margaret "Madge" (Stewart) Model. She married Leo Howard Russell on April 29,
1972, in Fairgrove. Margaret worked at Kingston High School and two years at the
Saginaw School of Applied Art. She was a bookkeeper for Haverly Turkzbury Agency in
Kingston before she went to her final job at the Caro State Hospital as a cook and
housekeeper. She retired after 15 years. She was a member of the Pilgrims Holiness
Church of Kingston before moving. She attended the Caro Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed
her many great nieces and nephews. Margaret is survived by her husband, Leo;
daughter, Rebecca Lashbrook Tallman and her husband, William, of Alvin, Texas;
stepchildren, Cheryl Hubbs and her husband Daniel, Jim Russell, Jeffery Russell and his
wife, Ann, of Flint; grandchildren, Lorena Oertli and her husband, Kal, Lee Tallman,
Yvonne Tallman; great grandchildren, Kristopher, Natasha, Kevin Lee, Daniel, Tyler;
several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her
brother, Carl Model. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct.
23, 2002, at Kingston Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Doug Bassett officiating.
Interment is in Kingston Township Cemetery in Kingston. Visitation will be from 2 to 5
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Arrangements by Kranz Funeral Home in Kingston.
