Rose Room March 2012 Dear Parents

Dear Parents:

March is coming in like a lion and so we surely expect it to go out like a lamb in April!

It’s Spring! We managed to get outside to play a few days in the month of February. Just when we thought it was safe to go outdoors, we were hit with a mixture cold weather and strong winds! The groundhog wasn't kidding when he predicted 6 more weeks of winter!

We are very excited about the weather warming up and in celebration we will be exploring the weather statement “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” Here we will be monitoring the wind and weather each day of March and we will record if it is windy and roaring like a lion, or soft and sunny, mild like a lamb. In the end we will record our findings on a graph for all to see.

The class would like to thank our parents for all the wonderful food and your generosity that you brought to our Valentine’s Day party, and for making it a success. The month of March is going to be an exciting one. We will begin the month by spending a whole week discussing and reading Dr. Seuss. Please make sure to send in your child’s favorite Dr. Seuss book. To honor this wonderful children’s book writer we will be making and eating “green eggs and ham.” In addition to this, we will be celebrating Grandparents’ Day this year. Grandparents are welcome to come to class to celebrate with the class. If grandparents are not able to attend, we welcome any aunts/uncles or other close relatives to attend with your child. Please bring a picture or a special item that hold childhood memories to share with the class. You may also bring a small dish to share. We will be hanging a sign-up sheet on the door. For St. Patrick’s Day our class will be celebrating with a parade, the children will be introduced to the Irish culture and have fun making Irish soda bread.

We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Misha who will be turning 5 years old on March 4^th and and Jacob who will be 4 years old on March 28^th.

Finally, we will be holding parent/teacher conferences at the end of the month. We strongly encourage you to attend as they will be very helpful in knowing how your child is progressing and where they may need improvement. Thank you!
