2^nd Annual Chinklacamoose Marathon

Official Marathon Relay Entry Form

Make the marathon a team effort and encourage your friends and family to participate in a 4-Person Marathon Relay! The race will start at the same time as the Chinklacamoose Marathon. Each relay team will consist of 4 persons, all being at least 12 years of age on race day. Participants will run the distances of a full marathon broken down for 4 runners. All relay team members will receive the same amenities as the full marathon participants, including a Chinklacamoose Marathon finisher’s medal. Team members must submit all four entries together and must designate one team captain.

Relay entry fee is $160 per team until December 31, 2013, $170 per team from January 1 – March 31, 2014, and $180 from April 1^st to the day before the event. Entries are guaranteed to teams that register by March 31, 2014. Entry fee is non-refundable. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Please see the website for all relay instructions.

Team Registration and Waiver

Waiver: I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter or run unless I am medically able to do so and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with running in this race including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic and the conditions of the course, all such risks being known and understood by me. I am aware that volunteer personnel who may be called upon to provide assistance, including first aid, to me during the event, will provide medical support for this event. I authorize any such volunteer to assist me or to perform such assistance as, in the opinion of such person may be necessary or appropriate. I understand that the Chinklacamoose Marathon assumes no responsibility or liability with respect to my participation in this event. I agree, however, to abide by any decision of any race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I hereby grant permission to the Chinklacamoose Marathon and its sponsors to use my name and any photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any record of this event for legitimate purposes without compensation. I agree to abide by the rules of this race as stated in all official race information. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, do hereby release and discharge the Chinklacamoose Marathon, the Clearfield County Conservation District, the Clearfield County Rails-to-Trails Association, the Curwensville Lake Recreation Area and all sponsors, representatives (including event volunteers), and employees of any of them, each of their respective successors, from all claims and/or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. The undersigned warrants that all statements made herein are true and correct and understands that the released parties have relied on the statements in allowing the runner to participate in the event.

Chinklacamoose Marathon

TEAM RELAY RULES AND REGULATIONS

Pre-Race Details

Team Registration: Registration is open to all people over the age of 12. Cost of team registration is $160.00 until December 31st, 2013, $170 per team from January 1 – March 31, 2014, and $180 from April 1^st to the day before the event. Registration includes bib number, “goody bag”, and a 2014 official Chinklacamoose Marathon T-Shirt. All participants are required to sign the above waiver. Participants under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian signature on the waiver. Registration is non-refundable. There will be no day of registration.

  Each Team will consist of up to 4 runners.  A Team can have as few as two (2) members competing.  Only teams with 4 members will be eligible for prizes.

  All Team members must be registered at the time the Team registers (NOTE: Team Relay participants do not fill out individual entry forms). Team members are NOT eligible to register for the single marathon.
  
• 
  Certificates will be awarded to the top team finishers.
  
• 
  Each Team will be given one wrist strap that will be passed from Team member to Team member at each of the relay exchange points.  Exchange Points will be monitored by Event Staff. The Team with the best time will be declared the winner.
  
• 
  The Relay Teams will run the same course as the Marathon field.

  First Leg – 6 miles with exchange at 6 mile mark (Mt. Savage Specialty Refractories Company in Curwensville)
  
• 
  Second Leg – 8 miles with exchange at 14 mile mark (Eagles Ridge Golf Course in Lumber City)
  
• 
  Third Leg – 6 miles with exchange at 20 mile mark (Irvin Park in Curwensville)
  
• 
  Fourth Leg – 6 miles to finish line
  

ONLY TEAM CAPTAINS MAY PICK UP TEAM RACE PACKETS.

Race begins at 8:00 A.M.

Each mile is marked.

The marathon begins at the trailhead for rails to trails at Linden Street in Clearfield. Take the Spruce Street exit off SR 879 and follow trail signs to the starting line.
