How to Make a Banner Using Microsoft Publisher


  • Open Microsoft Publisher (Click on Start, MS Office, Microsoft Publisher)

  • Click on Publications for Print (already highlighted in blue) on the left

  • Click on Banners (fourth down in list)

  • Choose any banner design [if you want to change designs, click on Publication Designs on left]

  • Select the size of the banner:

    • Click on Banner Options on the left

    • Click on Custom Width, in blue letters at the bottom on the left

    • Change to the width you want [for Science Fair, 2 feet is the width of the center of the science board; 3 feet is the width for a header board]

      • Put size you want into Width box in middle of box and click OK

      • A window comes up that tells you about “This operation changes the page size or orientation….” Select Yes.

    • Adjust size of text box and border box to fit inside the blue line of banner by clicking on each item and dragging into the correct size




  • Type your title by clicking mouse in textbox of banner and typing
