PREREQUISITE SUBJECTS: -


SUBJECT OBJECTIVE: To develop knowledge and skills in legitimate and safe handling of various pistol type of weapons.

CONTENT:

Is familiar with the legislation governing the handling of weapons, safe handling principles and the basics of shooting theory

Lecture: Various contemporary firearms. Review of legislation regulating the handling of weapons.

Contact Hours: 2 hours Lecture

Independent work 12 h


Participates in class, and examines the various legal acts independently.

Test (test and open-ended questions).

The evaluation criteria: grade of "A" - answered correctly 95%, grade "E" - 60%.






Lecture: The safe handling of firearms.

Contact Hours: 2 hours Lecture

Independent work 6 h


Participates in class, and learns the principles of safe handling of firearms and applies the knowledge in the shooting practice.

Safety requirements and commands in shooting practice.

Examines materials independently.








Lecture: Basics of shooting theory. Contact Hours: 2 hours Lecture

Independent work 6 h



Acquires the basics of shooting theory. Internal and external ballistics. A shot and its periods, the initial speed and scatter of the bullet. Backfire, flight line, shooting conditions, air resistance.

Examines materials independently.






Knows the operation principles and technical data of a pistol type firearm, and is able to maintain the weapon.

Lecture and practical work: Guns "Makarov" (PM) "Sig Sauer" and "Glock". Weapons maintenance.

Is familiar with the operation principle of the pistol and is able to disassemble and reassemble the weapon.

Operation principle, disassembly, assembly, component features, specifications and ammunition. Daily maintenance, carrying and maintenance after the shooting. Studies independently using an e-learning object.

Knows the principles of maintenance of firearms and is able to apply them on a daily basis.


The practical test, in which the student demonstrates disassembly and assembly of a pistol

The student demonstrates maintenance of weapons and explains the methods and the equipment used.



Uses a gun legally and safely

Participates in the required practical shooting classes and performs various shooting drills.



Practical activities: shooting fundamentals.

Is able to apply the acquired knowledge in practical work;

Shooting position, weapon grip and selection of targeting eye, aiming line, handling of the trigger, and breathing. Posture, targeting and aiming. Basic errors and error analysis



Through practical exercises is assessed safe handling and shooting accuracy


Uses a weapon legally and safely

Participates in the required practical shooting classes and performs various shooting drills.



Shouting practice

Contact Hours: 8 h

Practical activity:

Failures and their removal.

Contact Hours: 2 h


Weapon malfunctions, failures of ammunition. Shooting practice with a service pistol.

Targeting and triggering. Weapons loading, unloading and inspection. Magazine Exchange.

Different shooting positions. Holster technique Single and dual action triggering. Shooting with one hand. Quick Shooting with a previously unloaded and a loaded gun.

Weapon protection.




Through practical exercises is assessed safe handling and shooting accuracy
