Zell am See-Kaprun (w&p), 25 August 2015 – Following the sizzling premiere last year, the organisers of WOW Glacier Love powered by Fridge Festival in Zell am See-Kaprun are promising an even more spectacular continuation this year. From the 6th to the 8th of November 2015, the region will be one of the first to open the winter season by hosting the exceptionally successful winter sports and music festival in Kaprun and on Kitzsteinhorn glacier. The top Belgian music producer Lost Frequencies (“Reality”) has been confirmed for the line-festival up and will be firing up the party with his hits. Kyma, FYMS and Teemid will also be on the decks, providing smooth beats and tunes to open the winter season. Clubbers and party fans can look forward to an additional official venue at the festival: The Castle. During the day on Saturday and Sunday, snow freaks will be treated to a freestyle contest, the new Winter Action Sport Games, a Winter Product Expo and will be able to test skis and boards by all major winter sports brands for free. The only glacier skiing area in the Salzburg Land region offers ideal conditions for perfect skiing pleasure from October on.
Powder snow and party highlights

On Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of November 2015, the town of Kaprun will be transformed into the biggest party zone in the Alps. From 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm on both days there will be a product expo and a winter market on Salzburger Platz next to the Pavillon Café. At 8.00 pm the party kicks off at the WOW Festival Area and on the main stage with some of the best international DJs in the clubbing scene. The party continues from 11.00 pm until late at night at one of five locations, including “The Castle” in Kaprun. The entire festival area is illuminated with impressive light installations and 3D video mapping, where animations, images and videos are projected onto three-dimensional objects.

On Saturday and Sunday, winter sports fans can look forwarded to perfectly prepped slopes and a varied programme on Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Starting at 9.00 am the latest ski and snowboard models will be available to test ride. While early risers swoosh through the fresh snow and enjoy the stunning panorama of the surrounding mountains, DJs and live acts take to the stage from 10.00 am to provide a great musical backdrop for the action on the slopes. Starting at 11.00 am on Saturday, the 7th of November, the best freestylers will be demonstrating their skills at the Fridge Festival Freestyle Battle, performing daredevil jumps and breath-taking stunts. The winner can look forward to a cash prize of €10,000. On both days, winter sports fans can participate in the new Action Sport Games from 11.00 am on.

New routes, more pistes: even more fun for winter sports fans on Kitzsteinhorn

Kitzsteinhorn glacier gets its first dusting of fresh, new snow at the beginning of October, offering ideal conditions for skiing and free-riding. The Winter 2015/16 season features some great new routes: the “Gletscherjet 3” (10-seater gondola lift and 8-seater chairlift combination) and “Gletscherjet 4” (10-seater gondola lift), offering winter sports fans even more comfort and wider glacier slopes for skiing fun at an altitude of nearly 3,000m. The wide choice of slopes and trails includes 41 kilometres of pistes, three snow parks, Austria’s biggest superpipe and five specially signposted freeride trails. The most thrilling challenge for experienced skiers is the “Black Mamba”, a 1,000-metre piste with a gradient of up to 63 per cent.
